No need to really get worked up about LED Backlit not being available on these monitors. As LED backlit on any available monitor at this time is only edge-lit anyways (no local dimming or anything to produce deeper blacks or a more vivid picture). They do help with providing a thinner bezel and reduction in energy usage, but for $425.00, they can't include everything and keep it affordable. Besides, by the looks of it, the bezel is pretty thin as it is on this monitor.
Same reason for not having HDMI included. HDMI = Liscensing Fees = Higher price passed along to the consumer.
I understand, there really isn't a monitor that fits for everyone. Being one who places high value on low-input-lag and precision in fast moving games, I would have to think that the circuitry and hardware level code execution time needed for a local dimming and dynamic contrast features would only add to input lag.Quote:

I just got a Nec EA231WMI. It's a great monitor, much better than my TN panel. The colors are awesome, really nice for viewing pictures. The response time is rated at 14ms but playing L4D, it's not really an issue. It's not as fast as my TN panel and you do notice that it's very slightly slower but you forget about it after a while. It doesn't really affect gameplay.
Oh, I whole-heartedly agree, I just think people put too much emphasise on whether the panel is LED backlit or not. I'll take CCFL all day long, I'm not too interested in LED until OLED is introduced at prices that the average consumer can afford.Quote:

The E-IPS are soo lame. I happened to buy a nec 2490wuxi2 that carries that kind of panel and the white glow was worse than on some TN screens. It's a H-IPS panel made by LG which is cheaper. Some monitor specific sites which I trust say (not presume) that it's H-IPS and they didn't fail me so far, by giving false informations. Even when a manufacture (like Samsung - for example) switched with a different type of panel, that information was available - regarding two type of panels for same model. It's true that so far we have 3 different informations if you check google (IPS,S-IPS and H-IPS), but the sites I trust say it's H-IPS (http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ for example).Quote:

The reason you see NEC with this panels, cause you might say they helped with this technology. The polarized films from the the back of LCD, is made by NEC - so called "advanced true white". And of course a NEC with this panel is at a double price, since the panel it's not the only LCD components and let's not forget the NEC brand hype, on a same page with LaCie, yet still far from EIZO.

If HP checked the effects of this news and noticed you guys think they're to cheap, they might up the price to satisfy you. They have no problem with UP-ing the prices to satisfy the customers. :rolleyes:
So I guess the h2-ips is actually the same thing as e-ips. Just different names...
