Cpu cooler is AC Freezer 64 so I reached cpu limits
Thanks aslanwas, for 45€ great ram
Sorry this is a bit off topic....
You guys talk about GTS and GTR etc....so you remove the heatspreaders, yes ?
How do you do that without trashing your ram ? I admit I haven't tried yet but I'd I love to know so I can fit some after market cooler.
i'm a bit new in that topic but I think i can explain it too
RAms, where you could put off the HS is very easy:
Team xtreem, if you got the ram, new or used, take a screwdiver ond put the screws off, take of the part of the HS, slowly, from left and from rioght, and then booom, the HS is taken off
time limit: max 5 minutes!
Rams, where you can put of the HS with a bit difficulty:
OCZ XTC
OCZ Raeper
Crucial ballistix
OCZ Flex ( no Flex 2 & Flex EX )
Kingeton Hyperx
GEIL Ultra,
G.Skill ( only tried on GBHZ ddr2 800 )
What you need is the following:
an Oven @ 250°C
a sharp Blade
a pair of gloves
a fingertip feeling ( is that right translated: Fingerstpizengefühl )
and Patience
You put the Ram in to the oven for max 10 minutes, than take it out and you take the sharp blade in your hands and try to go between the HS and the ICs, it's possible that the Heat-coucting-Pad could be damaged a bit but it doesn't damage anyway the ICs of the ram. ATTENTION: DON'T burn off your fingers:eek:
time limit: max 30 min
Note: No Warranty or responsibility for any accuring damages, on your Ram and on your fingers
Rams, where it is not possible to remove the HS:
Corsair Dominator ( i destroyed a Z9HWQ 1gb module )
becauese corsair glues the Hs to the ICs for better Heat transport
time limit: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...finite.svg.png
I hope i could help,
and if i am saying some :banana::banana::banana: here, please correct me if possible.
All listed RAms have been tested on taking the HS off, you know what i mean
my english is not the best, as you can see above
Thanks Aslanwas...might have a go somewhen...when my nerves can take it , LOL.
Little update on my RAM adventures. :)
I got a kit of Cellshocks black that i started testing right away but one stick didn't want to cooperate, it needed 2.17V to boot at 7-6-6-18 DDR1800 and it wasn't even stable. :(
This stick is spending some time in the deep freezer at -25ºC now, hoping to revive it.
The other stick of the kit was a lot better and ran stable at 2.06V same settings as above.
After all those dissapointments i ordered a brand new kit of CSX Diablo's with GTR chips.
After testing i found that these sticks didn't like both Trfc 48 and Trp 5 and needed over 2.08V to operate at DDR 1800 7-6-6-18.
Then i started testing the sticks seperately and found that one stick was capable of running DDR1800 7-6-5-18 (Trfc 60) at only 2.01V stable!
The other stick of the pair refused to boot at those settings!
Then i started testing the sticks of my old kit of Diablo's and experienced something similar, one stick refusing to boot at those settings and one stick running fine but needed one notch more Vdimm.
Great, now i just combined both good sticks and got them running together nicely at 2.02V load (2.01V set in bios)
With some more tweaking i might be able to reduce Vdimm even further but for now i'm happy. :)
If all goes well, soon i'll have yet another kit of Diablo's here. :D
Quite well results , ZEUS :up:
Got my third set of Diablo's and been testing them some.
Turns out to be the best kit of the 3 i have now.
Running DDR1800 7-6-5-18 Trfc 48 with 2.01V:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...nshots/158.jpg
I need to do a little more tweaking, i've only put them in a few hours ago, with some luck i might be able to bring the Vdimm down some.
Some D9GTR fetish: :D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v620/Z3us/D9GTR.jpg
The Cellshocks will go back to it's owner though.
From testing the 3 kits plus the kit i owned a year ago i can conclude that the first kits of Diablo's were best.
kit one- (the one i had back then) DDR1800 7-6-5-18 Trfc 48 2.05V
kit two- DDR1800 7-6-5-18 Trfc 48 2.12V (one stick needs that much)
kit three- (new kit) DDR1800 7-6-6-18 Trfc 60 2.08V
kit four- DDR 1800 7-6-5-18 Trfc 48 2.01V
The new kit with the new logo printed on the heatspreader is the worst of the bunch, it needs Trfc set to 60 or it wont boot, one stick won't run Trp 5.
So if you're looking for Diablo's, avoid the newer kits and try to get your hands on some older kits. :)
Don't really know max frequency but i did this run yestersday:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...8untweaked.jpg
Hopefully the sticks have some to give but for now i'm happy. :)
quite good results there, 600FSB = 2400MHZ Ram :D we're waiting for !!!
I have this ram - OCZ3P1600LV3GK. This is done with 1.9v
Pretty sure its D9GTS
can also be samsung or bbse, you never know
i think they couldn't be elpida because bbse doesn't like that much Volts, it could be D9XXX but also HCF0
Got new Sticks, Patriot PDC32G1866LLK, and they have 100% Micron D9GTR (loooked em up) :D
