Yes..1.4ghz was without any voltage increase to memory...just capping 2x 6.3v 1000uf caps to each mem phase. Now vdroop measured at each mem chip has improved substantially...
* and no OCP wont matter below 1.35v

Would that 5770 still have 1GB of RAM on the PCB..? and a similar layout for the voltage phase?
*I am not sure if the 5870's issue was due to the amount of RAM on the PCB..or lack of capacitance in the vmem circuit. Soon as I mod a 512mb or 2GB version..I'll let you know though :p
Does anyone know vgpu/vmem mod for 5870?
wow with the 4870 etc the mods were out before the gpu's were now there still seems like a vmod is unknown
It seems that nobody want to share it... :(
Any news on a 5850 vCore mod?
bizarre... people are each day more egoist and scared. There is like 2 or 3 :banana::banana:s that already posted pictures of their modded 5870 w/ censored mods. Any vmod I've done I posted clear pics to everybody.
Full 5870 mod has been posted in the thread right above this one.
HOWEVER - nobody has posted a 5850 mod yet. Anyone? Bueller....Bueller?
Can someone show, where is the HD5850 vgpu measuring point on the PCB?
@nickless: Try the SMD caps on the backside of the PCB (the lower bunch), left of "HIS S/N" sticker

yeah its been confirmed... OCP as listed works as well no need to remove the resistor just solder VR and tune down..

Here are my vmeasure points:

and OCP as well..

not the same thread..but heres 5970 as well...

..prolly get ban now :o
thanks!
Is there someone how knows where the vmem mod for the 5870 is??
Pretty sure mem voltage can be adjusted with the unlocked BIOS... seems the BIOS controls only 1x VRM..the rest are slaves, so there will be just 1x point for hard mod..havent found it yet though, as I dont have these GPU's... I just mod them for clients :o
WTF is that man?
No 5850 voltage mods why??? LOL
Cap-mod on HD5850 seems to be pretty much the same as on HD5870.
Here is a picture of the backside of the card: http://ht4u.net/images/reviews/2009/...d_back_big.jpg
Looks like HD5850 has less caps but this shouldn't be a problem, right?
Anybody here already cap-modded his HD5850?
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...tor_v1.24.html
now there is a new RBE editor and it have memvolt settings for the 4890/5870/5970 cards as well as gpuvolt settings
^^^ is it working last time i tried 1.23 with my 5770 died ........
Please do show some pics buddy ..................
What do you mean i can showe 1.7v to my HD5770s without a problem
no offense Bro
Just some info how it works :) ,what voltage should be set so that it never bricks etc etc .........................
for gpu 3d voltage use the 0X18 window
