Rogerthat, I tried to briefly explain what was the best settings back at ocau but I cant seem to access them atm :(
yup OCAU struggling to load itself heh
You guys bothered trying benchmarks that actually test sytem performance to see if Sisoft is just throuwing pretty numbers for you?
that's what i'm doing right now on AI7
sandra 2004
pcmark2002
pcmark04
3dmark2001
3dmark2003
ut2003 demo
X threat
Aquamark3
glxcess 1.2b
sciencemark 2.0
on AI7 @ 200mhz 2-2-2-5 1:1 2.8v sandra 2004 unbuffered is 3200 and buffered is 4985
What's the verdict on this mobo, BTW?
still testing wicktron .. still testing
Some default benchmarks to start with
P4 2.4C
MCX4000 + 120x38mm Delta 190cfm fan
Abit AI7 with 1.4 bios
2x 512MB OCZ PC3500 Platinum Limited Edition Dual Channel
128MB Gigacube 9600PRO with Cat 3.9
80GB WD 800JB
Yamaha CRW-F1 CD-RW Burner
520W Topower Gold dual fan PSU
WinXP SP1 latest updates
1:1
@ 200mhz 2-2-2-5 at 2.8v
(can do it at 2.7v but since memory is rated at 2.75v and no 2.75v vdimm option in bios so used 2.8v)
GA = F1
Refresh Cycle Time = AUTO
Read Delay = AUTO
Read Delay Adjust = AUTO
Command Per Clock = AUTO
Sandra 2004 STD
Buffered: 4987/4985
Unbuffered: 3162/3254
Aida32 3.85
Read: 5137
Write: 2101
Pcmark2002
CPU: 6008
MEM: 9868
HDD: 1082
Pcmark04 = 3978
3Dmark2001: 11,986
3Dmark2003: 3441

CPUZ for AI7 when GAT is set seems to think 1:1 is 5:4 for some reason, but as you can see 1:1 benchmark results are above..

this may seem kinda obvious, but it seems like the prometiea cannot be mounted on there, unless you were to make your own bracket of some type? good luck getting it on there.
Prometeia can be mounted on AI7. Local computerstore is selling rig based on AI7 mobo, and its cooled with Mach2.Quote:

wow thanks The Stilt!
Gives me more confidence when i plug it into my Mach2 :)
Awesome news
Actually those Sandra buffered scores are very good compared to a standard 865p setup. You score (ON STOCK SETTINGS) 100 MB/s more throughput than the 865 chipset, and only 13 MB/s less than the 875p chipset.Quote:

But ofcourse, I would like to see overclocked benches even if you think your overclock is nothing special, I would surely like to see it...
Yhanks for your time your putting into this eva2000. I really appreciate it :toast:
oc'd scores are on their way - memtest86 error free for past 50mins looping test #5 at 217mhz 2-2-2-5 at 3.05v with GA = F1 and Refresh Cycle Time = Strengthen = memtest86 reports 3285MB/s bandwidth
200 2-2-2-5 was at 3093MB/s memtest bandwidth
taking baby steps right now :)
GA = F1 is very good imo :)
With the MAX3 hipro worked out that I think it was actually worse that Street or Enhance maybe too even.....I remember some about enhance but cant recall :)
Nice results
Can you give us a link?Quote:

As the socket is turned 45°, it doesn't seem like you can install a Prommy.
How do you install the metal clip then? It needs to be attached to the socket, but how is that possible, looking the way the socket is placed.
Since the core of the P4 is just as little as a AMD it doesnt matter... just install the Cpu kit as normal... Because the Prommy cooler head WILL cover 100% of the CPU Core dont worry;)Quote:

You should ask macci for more info. He "might" know better than I do, because he works in that store, which is selling those rigs...Quote:

Of course, the metal clip is attached against the upper bracket, the socket has nothing to do with it.
Pff, and saying that I had a Prommy for over 1 year.
I should better get some sleep, didn't sleep enough the past week.
keep going guys nice results :)
IM used to the abit boards, i just cant get the numbers i can out of an IS7 or IC7, i have all three on a bench right now comparing.Quote:
eva the GAT settings are pretty straight foward, your just used to Asus boards, like Im used to Abit boards
My vapo will work no problem, I just have to "make" a bottom MB gasket.
The board has no problem running 250 1:1 with my Kingson BH-5's or 290 fsb 1:1 with my geil 4200. Just cant get the numbers i want.
I'll just keep at it.
The DRam refresh on the Abit is just fancy names for 7.8, 15.6 etc like on the asus.
GAT for me is stages of overclock on the northbridge. As you go async the clock on the NB is effected automatically, GAT seems to let you clock back if you desire. It also lets you clock higher in 1:1 mode....its been known a while you can actually overclock the NB on i875/i865 independant from the cpu and memory.
CPC is command per clock.I thought it was a ram 1T command but it actually seems to be a NB 1T command as even disabled the ram is at 1T on Abit etc.
The other settings im not 100% on but they are NB settings and NOT ram.
Regards PAT you will need to force a strap setting anything other than 800 to get full PAT on a springdale as it is hardware locked to off at 800 strap.
Thanks Tony i'm at N/B Strap of 800fsb and cpuz says performance enabled... need to check in ctiaw next
i noticed at higher fsb 1:1 using GAT like F1 i might need to up vcore some to be stable in memtest86 test #5 ? this a usual pattern ?
Tedinde, what do you mean a custom gasket ? gasket = evap head equivalent for mach2s ?
yup can confirm 200mhz 2-2-2-6 at GA = F1 cpuz says performance enabled and CTIAW says PAT fully enabled with N/B Strap = 800fsb
well i just swapped in my 2x 256MB ADATA PC4000 - they won't do GAT at all so set at AUTO
