I have givin up on the NF7-S (7-8 boards totall) and the AN7.. returning both for the DFI Lanboy Ultra B.

Oh and damn is Newegg the best! They let me return my NF7-S that i bought 5 months ago and exchange it for something else. hehe.. Hell i only used it on and off for the past 3 weeks.
There even shipping it free to me over night.. so i should have it by Friday and like the An7.. I'll let you guys know how it is. :cool:
whats the differant tween teh lan party and the infinity? i was thinking of an infinity B for my new mobo.
The Infinity does not have any UV stuff . I think the giglan is gone as is some of the software bundled with the lanparty version .The PCB is red on the Infinity too .

i have this board, it's pretty good in some ways it's also not so good in others. i needs a mem mod Bad it doesnt have enought voltage going to the memory to have a good 1:1 overclock. the best i did was 2405 13x185 (seemed to like the high divider.) more questions on this board pm me.
what kinda low ram voltage numbers are we talkign about here, from what i saw it had like 3.3vdimm!
I got the Infinity installed last night along with a new LOCKED Barton 2500... It sure is a purdy red PCB with 2 red LED's built in. :D It has not had my undivided attention enough to know whats going on... I do know the Barton would not Prime at stock volts at 11x200 with 11-2-2-2 timings. BUT everything is new... It is currently Priming at the above speed, but with alot more volts. :mad: So Im not sure if the chip is bad or just needs to burn in.

Well as far as the rails being low... I have not noticed a problem, but Im still trying to get the sensors correct in MBM. I will look closer in the bios next time. Plus I have my PSU turned up alittle high. :eek:

so its getting better.... I know I have my volts higher then they need be... but last night this combo needed it.
This might be a dumb question... after switching MB & CPU but not doing a clean install last night, my pc wont remember cookies?? If I close my browser then open it and come back I have to log in again. What would have changed?
Did your privacy settings default to high? IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy
nope set to low..
I did look at my rails... the only one that is low is the 3.3 = 3.22
My PSU overvolts so the rest dont get pulled down.
I'll probably grab one of the regular B's for X-mas :D
Is it just me guys or does the board look very barren of power regulation. The cpu mosfets look tiny, and there are hardly any capacitors on near the ram slots and elsewhere. I am really thinking of getting an infininty regardless. It's just I wish the AN7 worked out well. If I didnt know how bad so many AN7's are - including mine, it seems if you were to look at these boards next to each other the caps and mosfets on the AN7 would dwarf this board and make it look budget. The NF7-S appears beefier too. Mind you I've only got pics as far as the DFI. Take a look yourself on newegg. All there boards seem to have the same first two angle shots.
Just something to think about know what I mean. The infinity is pretty cheap and the lanparty could be priced on bling bling. The leadtek deluxe is another option (again- dwarfs the caps etc. of the DFI)

Im pretty sure my volts are a little high for what Im doing. This board definatly UNDERVOLTS. My 5v rail reads like 1v or less in MBM and other windows type apps. But in the Bios it reads correctly.

What's your highest fsb at 3dmark? I'm having serious issues going over 230... also my rails are extremely low read by mb5 but psu is good, on abit board I had fantastic rails.Quote:

This has only been running for 2 days... I have not even opened 3DMarks on this MB yet.
My rails do seem to jump around alot.
Is it passive cooling on the NB ? Have you guys added a fan or bigger cooler ? I have read the voltage monitoring may not be the best with the board . But if it is just the monitoring that is off not the actual voltages then we should still be OK .

It does look like power regulation could be the seemingly obligatory downside to this NF2 board. This time I'm buying from the egg so I dont have to worry so much.
1 other thing I'm also interested in, is the bandwidth at similar fsb's DFI vrs. Abit. I see there is a cpu interface option so hopefully it works just as well. I dunno, it's just after playing with all these little bios options and seeing what a big difference it can make, I hope alternative boards options work as well. No point in getting a sick fsb if the bandwidth doesnt match.
So those are my two concerns, anyone who can answer gets a virtual pat on the back :thumbsup:

SB is cool as there's stock passive heatsink and a fan over it, mosftets are cooled the same with a fan blowing air over them, either near the cpu and near dimm slots and I feel them only slightly warm by the touch. If it's only a soft reading issue about the voltages, then i'm probably chipset limited but changing vdd from 1.6v to 1.9v doesnt't seem to help, That's why I suspect it's a mosfet/caps issue as voltages from psu are more than good.
As for performance I only did a quick 250x10 sandra mem at thight timings and results are equal with my old abit nf7-s. No 3DMark yet.Quote:
