can you take pics from a couple more angles please?
@BH: I would think spacers would be ideal.
@DB: i took a whole bunch but that was the only one that came out clear, ill take a few more when i get home tomorrow.
Where would you like me to focus, ill try to get them best i can.
it looks like the casing is broken.
What exactly do i need to get? I just placed the order with FrozenCPU not but 15 minutes or so ago, would like to call and get them to add whatever I need to the order but I can't find any kind of spacers on thier site, is there another name for them?
You don't need the spacers.
@affiliate13, the only time I've seen that kind of damage done is when some kind of major shock is applied to the mounting bung (dropping the rad on it, hitting a fitting on something hard). That certainly doesn't look like it's from over tightening. I can also see a wear ring from the o-ring so that looks like it was properly seated to start with. You probably just opened the crack up further when you used the pliers.
@BH:
I have some i got with my XSPC Razors to stop the inlet out lets getting blocked by long threads.
Not sure if there is another name for them.
Wish i thought to use try them tbh.
@WL:
If thats the case then it must have happened at the factory as the box was undamaged and the packing from the supplier was good.
Ill take more shots when i get home tomorrow so you guys can get a better view of this.
you might want to try to call JB weld if the seller wont do nothing about it :D anyhow do you guys know how to make the radiator black again after some of the paint chips off without making it look too ghetto? I have some marks on my rad also like that....where the black chipped off.
Hey DB, with my zoom and macro this is as good as i can get:

If you need another ill try again with my friends camera, it gets shipped away on Wednesday.
a photo tip for you mate - you just need more light and your macro will easier find the focus points it needs and you will be able to get close like you want. get a few lamps together or even take it outside in the day time to get the light you need - remember flash is not the answer :D
:up:
seriously... i've been taking a PhD (Press Here Dummy) camera for my business trips wehre i have to take hundreds of shots of runway/models/apparel/shoes and dicovered that no-flash yields much MUCH nicer pics...
only in that the point and clicks shutter stays open longer and i get lot more blurry pics...
now i have a Rebel XSi and pics with no flash is just amazing!

just to derail a thread here and there... :D
Had another crack at it.
With flash and without.

Looks like the fitting was hitting the rad and when you screwed it tight it pulled up on the port you were screwing it into making the crack? I take it 3/4compression won't fit without hitting the rad where you have the paint chipped off? If so i am going to have to get some 45's or something in order to use my 3/4 compressions :/
that spells RMA
RMA it.
Ahhhh, I see what happened. Used pliers or something to screw the fitting down and it used the edge of the rad as leverage to move the bung hole and crack the weld. Good to know actually that the side can interfere with fittings.
That's right...I said it....You broke your bunghole!
Looks like extensions are a must when using larger fittings on this rad to clear that edge.
The bunghole is cracked. Send the broken radiator and bunghole back to fester (LOL.. i love that name)
that's hilarious that Feser's own fittings don't fit. they should spend less time photoshopping frogs and more time paying attention to the details. fail? :rofl:
