Shaz you have PM, CHECK BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON PUMP!!!!!
Thanks, guys. I was considering some type of bay res. The Typhoon 3 would be nice.
And ... big thanks to DB!
It'll be nice if it ever friggin gets released for purchase. A good chunk of my build hinges around 2 of them. I think it's a tossup as to which will be available first...the Nvidia GT300 or the T3.
Killer work on the fan sleeving. Mine doesn't look that good, heh. Going to have to tear it apart and try again out of sheer shame.
DB u get samples of the GT300 yet?
(sorry for derailing the thread shazza as DB usually gets vapor cards b4 a lot of people.)
i am also waiting on GT 300's b4 i can retire my X2's.
Thanks, Aielman, but still trying to improve my sleeving technique
No apologies necessary, NaeKuh. I'm also interested on the 300s.
Apologies from me for taking so long on this log - I anticipated it being a 3 day affair, but it's taking a bit longer than expected. But, do check back in a few days, as I hope to have made some progress.
Yes...and they have been for quite some time. I plan on buying two once they're available, but I'm not holding my breath ;)
Quite welcome. You're way ahead of me...and no worries. I've been working on my box for 5 years, lol. Kids' needs keep getting in the way. So take your time...you're speeding right along by comparison.
hey Shazza have you figured out what you are going to do with the sleeving on your HX-1000 where it enters the PSU yet? Iv basically ground my build to a halt because i cant bringmyself to sleeve the rest of those cables until i figure out a way to not make it look like a cluster of heatshrink...
im very temped to start taking out screws to open it up and see if i can get the sleeving all the way inside.... but i iz scared!
i want to avoid the sudden burst of sleeve you see below in this pic...

Thanks, Waterlogged and Aielman, for sharing your delay stories :) I'm not too concerned, just that I was expecting this to be a "put it together quickly" build, as it's just a simple Torture/ Test Rack. But, of course, I keep thinking of things I want to do with it, so that means waiting for a few little goodies to arrive.
@ MulletBoy ... we are in the same boat! I think trfnj did a great job of sleeving, but that much cable won't work in this case. I tried again to take the cover off, but you either have to pry the top off after removing the screws, or possibly take the rivets out of the bottom. Then, the hole would probably have to be made bigger for the sleeving to fit through. So ... I exercised my female perogative and went shopping - a completely modular PSU is on its way :p:
Ooo which one did you get Shaz?
my guess would be the silver stone ZEUS 1200, thats a 100% modular PSU, i think iv seen a few MurderMod TJ07 builds use it
am i right?
ps. you cheated shazza :p: .. and now i need to figure this out all by my lonesome...
i may end up doing it as the psychopack intends.... using the big sleeving for the PSU entrance, then merging into unisleeve... depends on my luck (read courage) with opening up my HX-1000
Yeh the Zues 1200w is one sexy sexy PSU.
Yes ... I'm cheating.
Not the Zeus for this build. Didn't need that much Power. Went with the Silverstone DA750.
Holy macaroni, you're insane shazza.
I love every single case you put your hands on, simply adore the art pics you take and enjoy the way your thread goes offtopic without going offtopic.
Keep it up!
Shaz have you pimped out the green yumminess? You should mod the hell out of it! I still have your door handle cover here somewhere . . . .
Shazza, jonny guru wasnt very impressed with the DA series. :X
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...Story3&reid=50
That gives the SilverStone Decathlon DA850 an overall score of 8.
As you can see the lowest mark is performance, which kinda worries me.
Performance 7.5
Aesthetics 8.5
Value 8.5
Functionality 8
Total Score 8
this is compared to the averag 9-9.5 psu's u and i normally look at it.
Why, thanks matsjuw. I'm just having fun - but I always get more involved than I intended to at the start. And, I told myself I wasn't going to wander OT in this thread, but the delay in parts isn't helping the situation ;)
Nah ... keeping it pristine green for now. I've still got to sort out how I'm going to do the XBOX.
Thanks, NaeKuh - yeah, I checked out the review before hand and wasn't too excited about it. But, I didn't want to spend a lot and it had to be 100% modular. Figure it will end up being a backup PSU in the long haul.
:D shazza
Updates or pics please, I'm starting to miss you :P
After seeing your last legendary MM build, I'm sure this build will be spectacular. I'm also confident you'll capture it all on film and share with us all.
No pressure or anything. :)
