Or the cat lets the cat out the bag, yeah. ;) Compumusic's price has been around $315 since I first browsed there earlier today, actually slightly cheaper than TankGuys now. As ya say I'm sure they'll burn through their stock in no time flat.

$315.xx is kind of high...but I remember when I first got my i7 920 at launch, I spent like $319.99 for it...I hope Micro Center's price is still the $229.99 when they starting carrying the D0.
Yea when pedro told me that they had it in stock I didn't jump the gun because of the big price difference, now that it is more reasonable I'd pulled the trigger on one as well and pedro told me it will be shipped out tomorrow and gauranteed SLBEJ-Costa Rica. :D
no doubt they'll be gone quick...especially sometime when you have those gung-ho overclockers willing to buy a few chips at once then cherry pick the best to keep and turn around to unload the lesser clocker on ebay, well...atleast that's what I used to do in the Opty days, but now with 2 kids and all I can't really afford to play those cherry picking game anymore. I'm pretty satisfy even with my current C0 stepping clocking at 3.6Ghz @1.30v on air...so whatever the D0 can do it's just icing on the cake and I'll unload the C0 on ebay to cover part of the cost.
Yeah, it crossed my mind I could order a second one, but I'm not going to open both and take the hit on resale value. If I was that concerned with overclocking results I'd just buy a Core i7 950 for the reasons I gave before!
I'm going to need every extra feature I can get to dissuade me to not upgrade to a hexcore Gulftown in a year... It worked with G0 Stepping Q6600's, I skipped the Penryn generation entirely. This proccy must last until 2011 and Sandy Bridge goes live. :p:
www.anitec.ca has some w3520's. http://www.anitec.ca/product/012967/...*d0_stepping*/ I called and they 4 left (3 now!) :D . A little pricey but I jumped on it because I didn't want to roll the dice on a 920 or have to wait months for a steady supply of D0 here in Canada.
Edit: they only ship to Canada!
Losing sleep on D0, why???
NewEgg 3 days Ago:
http://extremecashplus.com/batch.jpg
24/7: 3.8 @ 1.215V
Prime Stable: 4.2 @ 1.385V
What do you expect for few hundred dollars?:D
Hey im in canada too...
Will the xeon clock higher or is it pretty much the same? I am ready to upgrade my system here...just wanted to wait for a D0 and order it all at once.
I still can't decide which mobo to go with either, torn between bloodrage, rampage and classified.
Let me know how that xeon clocks peace out
Xeon should clock the same, it's just that you're guaranteed a D0 with it(for a ~$50 premium). Mine is coming CP ground so it'll be a few days.
Newegg reviews are meaningless and that's not an attack on anyone. The simple fact is what do you expect from a 250.00 cpu?
We've chased stepping's for years and have seldom found the "GOLD". They have been found, they do exist, and the quest is fun.
This is "ExtremeSystems" so we continue to search for that extra 50 or 100 mz to bench and brag about :), yet in reality we spend money, lose sleep, and ignore the fact that at this level a few 100 mz don't me squat! ;)
I'm not saying this is wrong; if your fetish is car stereo, home entertainment, fast cars, or "super sex toys", it doesn't matter much does it?
I'm just pointing out that we've not seen anything that suggest that D0 is anything special or worth losing sleep over.
Yet Carry On :D:D:D, it's just my thoughts.
Best Regards-
I just placed my order to Compumusic. Looks like I'll be selling my C0....off you go now.
Actually I wonder if anyone will kill the C0 and get RMAed to D0 rather than buying a new one....just curious
:cord:
that kind of scam-artist mentality is simply wrong, who here would really go out of their way to kill the cpu intentionally in order to con a new replacement out of the manufacturer/vendor? if your RMA being denied then you had just fuX0r yourself out of $300, or worst...in the process of killing the c0 what if you end up frying the mobo or(and) ram and other shizzo along with it...? :shakes:
If you are low on money why don't you ebay the c0 to offset the cost instead?
I just receive my Xeon 3520 Batch # 3844A704 S-Spec: SLBEW
Will put it on Water by Weekend.
Then you missed my point. Newegg reviews mentioned who got C0 and who got D0 steppings and when.
I'm not losing sleep over it, but it is like anything else. If you are going to pay $23,000 for a new 2010 car, would you be happy if the dealer subbed in an identical 2009 model? Even if the actual car was 100% identical, which it wouldn't be, it'd have a significantly lower value.
Anywhere, here's a better reason: D0 steppings are just built for overclocking. Anandtech's D0 overclocked as good as their best 965 chips and did so using lower voltages on everything. To quote them:

But on CPUs?? Its so extremely rare for one of these to not be working, in fact its just about impossible unless it was damaged in transit due to how Intel tests these things before boxing them up. I'd have thought RMA'ing a CPU because it was dead would be a give away because of that.
Is there anything to that D0 recall rumor?
Update: I talk to Robert Today from compumusic.com & they accept order for Canadian folks but need to email him to info@compumusic.com to get shipping estimate since the calculator for shiping on the webpage can't calculate for outside USA shipping
