I got the same problem with the M4A78T-E. I tired a few different things incl. increasing voltages ect... no luck so far.

Yeah CrazyHorse I’ve tried many different settings in the bios and I have about worn out my clear CMOS jumper. It doesn’t look like there is any core magic in my 720 but it’s still a good 720.
I would like to hear from someone with an M3A79-T Deluxe that has the fourth core unlocked. The one that Sxs112 had shown on the first page of this post is the only one I am aware of although there are undoubtedly more by now. I wonder which motherboard has had the greatest success rate for unlocking the fourth core?
Works great with Asus M4A79 Deluxe and Phenom II X3 720 BE (week 51):

- Every motherboard with SB750 and ACC are able to unlock 4th core..
- ..with proper BIOS (like the ones for Asus boards in this thread)
- It's just a matter of CPU if 4th core can or cannot be enabled
M3A79-T Deluxe is where it all started, possibly :p (/me waves at AMD, hint, hint). On mine with 0703 bios all I need to do is enable ACC, all core or per core, it doesn't matter - iirc Auto works too. The only thing to double check is that at least one core has an ACC correction of something other than 0 eg.
core1 = 0, core2 = 0, core3 = 0, core4 = 0 does NOT unlock my 4th core.
core1 = 0, core2 = 0, core3 = -2, core4 = 0 or any combination that does not set all = 0 does unlock my 4th core.
Also, I have never had to clear my CMOS. "Press F1 CPU has changed" is as bad as it gets for me.
CrazyHorse, theOne, Sampsa and ecat thanks for the reply. My processor # is 0904 DPAW which may be meaningless in the grand scheme of unlocking the fourth core. I am starting to believe that it just has to do more with the luck of the draw rather than anything else. Based on your posts and what I have read on several web sites differently dated 720’s are running on four cores on a variety of motherboards.
I have tried every Asus bios for the M3A79-T Deluxe along with the mod bios in this thread although I haven’t tried every setting combination with every bios version. Ecat I may flash 0703 again today and make sure I have tried your ACC core settings. I may have reached a dead end toward unlocking my 720’s fourth core with this combination with hardware. I’m glad most of you have the fourth core unlocked in your 720 though and thanks again for the replies.
mod bios does not work by me ( X3 720 0851FPBW + M3A78-T ). It can boot up with 4th core and enter Vista x64 but hanged up when I open my browser!
Now I am even thinking about change to another 790gx mobo, gigabyte or foxconn A7DA-S.
ASUS ALL MOD BIOS Can run Phenom II X4 810 4MB @ 6MB
Does enabling 6MB make use of ACC as well?
Dear blindbox

will the m3a78-t bios be debuged in future?
is this bios mod possible on other boards? the ones also using the ami type? any help would be much greatly appreciated.
Please help me! Will any X3 720 work to unlock the 4th core? When not witch dates of build? I 've read the 04/09. Are there more of them?
I also want to buy a MB who works with DDR3 Ram. Witch motherboard do you prefer?

M4A78T-E & 720BE @ 4cores working OK, thanks sxs112:

Running M4A79 with bios 1303 trying to downgrade to the beta bios for this mobo, just wont let me telling me this version is older than the board.....
Any help on what I can do to downgrade bios, trying the 7750
Thanks
can you mod some newer bioses to do it too. for some reason i can't clock the cpu/nb with the multi now. only HT and it only does around 230.
I have tried the mod-bios for my M4A78T-E now and cant get it to work at all.
I can get into bios and test different setting then push "Save and Exit".
When i push that the computer restarts with a reseted bios and i have to push F1 to enter bios again or F2 to Load default settings. ( Which the bios itself allready did )
Looks like i cant change anything in bois without it resetting itself directly upon restart.
