First off, a setup like this needs a contemporary OS to really shine.. like XSOS (Server 08), Vista x64 or even Win 7.
Second, you can surf the web and check emails on a laptop or 299$ dell.. so what do you think you can that on a rig that's roughly 20x as fast ;)

Back to your question, of course you could use a Dual Gainstown as your daily setup. It's just so much more expensive than getting another desktop setup, so the argument of not being able to afford more than 1 rig doesn't really apply..
Of course if you deliberately chose to only have 1 rig, I couldn't think of a better choice :up:

Best deal seems to be the X5550 @ $999 (can't find it anywhere tho) as it retains all the features of the W5580 less the clockspeed.
