I´m not advocating for dualcores (Or even tricores) since the future is quads and beyond. But to make the judgement I would add that the E8600 price would drop and be replaced by the E8700.Quote:

Sarcasm on a side, high clock and 6megs of shared cache will do what they've done for all Cores so far when it comes to singlethreaded and explicitly dual-core optimized apps... but in multithreaded apps and multitasking scenarios things will be completely different...
But back to my main argument - what's your take on it? Cheap quads (or cheaper triples) , or expensive duals?

....about dual vs quad,no dude, for games ( and with high clocks dual core) is all 2009 to use easily ( game developers not run fast, some one say alan wake?...yeah sit and wait )...this is with E8400 soft oc,..with an e8700 maybe you can wait more fps,and of course more 3dmarks...
