Well, regardless of which one is more accurate, it's clear that the values reported by i7 and the Phenom II sensors are not comparable.

I think the bigger cooler the less voltage needed to run that clock :) Therefore the power consumtion should lower :)

With X2 5200+ Stock fan, we need 1.352V to run at 3GHz. But with XIGMATEK HSF, we only need 1.344V to run :D

Am I getting this right 88W at 1.35V and 65W at 1.25V. Good one. Thank you very much for testing, no need for other reviews now. :)

Here an Q9300 oced to 3GHz requires 66W.

And this includes inefficiency of PWM :) I'm also really happy about new C'n'Q 3.0 with more p-states and all core multiplier change. Once again I will enable C'n'Q on my RIG!!

I see you are running 1.6 volts on the cpu. Is it possible to go higher then 1.45 volts through the bios with Phenom II? I like my DKA790GX Platinum, but the 1.45 volts maximum on Phenom I in the bios is a bit low.

I assume it was done without ACC also. Have only read lostcircuit review. Skimmed ober anandtech, the chip has four p-states now? I'd love to tweak em all.
Think in idle it can be brought down to or close to (>5W) k8's 45w idle consumption.

@Toppc, Have you tested 1.185V with or without ACC? May work at 1.185V with ACC at -2 or 0.

Hes prolly using the AMDOD hack to get higher voltages

I don't know, if I put my X2 5000BE in the DKA790GX I can take the voltage all the way up to 1.6 volts in the bios. The 1.45 limit only seems to be there for Phenoms.

what bios you using is that the 1.4??

I was using the 1.3 bios and all I could get was 1.45v.

1,45V limit is probably only for X4 Phenoms (I). On X3 you can also set voltage to 1,6V in the BIOS, but 1,55V or more require better cooling for motherboard power section (i.e. additional fan).
