But is close. Maybe AM3 CPU´s will close the Gap :)
Perhaps nb/hypertransport and core scaling with overclocking will close the gap.
Also these setups do have some slight differences with the memory setup if i'm not mistaken and that could account for a small bit of difference.
next bench throw the Q9400 if deneb fall in between the Q9400 and 9450.
still want to know how much of that 12mb of cache is helping.
Thank you for the updated review! When does the clock-per-clock comparison arrive? :)
i was wondering the same thing. i am looking forward to a clock per clock comparison between Phenom, Phenom 2, Kentsfield and a Yorkie. That will show it true colors. and then a max over clock on all of them and then a comparison of benches at the max oc. thanks for the updated review!
Not bad considering it costs 279,90€ in Finland (Tax edition)
And OC's to 3,8-4ghz pretty easily. ( I think I can say that)
Q6600 costs <190€ though
OverClocker_gr: thx for very great tests! , will you compair stock NB vs 2500mhz+ also when you make test @ 3.7ghz?(if you clock cpu dont forget to clock nb also)
:toast: Keep up the good work guys! So, at stock settings Deneb is:
1) Clock for clock similar to Kentsfield in performance
2) similar to Yorkfield in power consumption
3) as good for OC-ing as Kentsfield and Yorkfield
I'm curious to see the clock for clock comparisons at 3.7GHz...
Any way of removing the gpu bottleneck? We are not learning much when a 2.4ghzkentsfield keeps up with this generations finest. Or just run some cpu intensive tests. Get a bit of folding going down. Thanks for the effort man, Must eat up some time doing all this but it is appreciated. Also, if you oc all cpus to 3.7 will that not make the fact that you are gpu limited even more pronounced and every cpu will have a equal score? One more thing, Any thoughts on how deneb overclocks?
Crysis n' crysis warhead result would also be so good!!
OC gr:
what is max stable OC? About 3.8GHz? And what is power com. + temperatures? Thx man:)
Onhan noita halvempiakin ysi-nelikymppisiä Phenomeita.
Wishful thinking is fine, but in my opinion you are better off in the long term if you accept the truth. :p:
Overclocking and power consumption, on the other hand, might turn out to be ph II's competetive advantage, even though I would not bet my money on that.
In waiting of power compsumption results and average overclocking on air/water .
But actually no one can say Phenom II is a bad product seeing the price. Preorder in Europe are 225€ for 920 and 275€ for 940 in average.
I'm looking at offers at sub-245€ for 940BE. And those are in Finland where chips are systematically 5-10% more expensive than in central EU.
In sweden we have to pay about 270€ for the 940 phenom, to expensive but as it is only one store that has the prices up for it i expekt that the prices will naturally come down when more stores will list the phenoms.

In GREECE prices for 940 are 299 euro for some big retail shops and 243 euro for some smaller shops.
Yet, there are a few shops that have PhII.
After the official launch we expect to see better prices..
Maybe, you should order yours from GREECE??:p::p:
well I am very tempted to, yes I am but still not impressed with the performance of the phenom 2 yet. Waiting for oc numbers before I decide.
