that`s very nice my friend....
the only thing i don`t suggest is putting tape round the socket....
i had a very unpleasant experience with that....
and a quick update again with cascade.....
both cards on air with ~1.37Vgpu....
unfortunately Vantage denied to run with an eror while loading cpu tests....
graphics were ok....
maybe a fresh win installation is needed....
also had ALWAYS the stupid CF GT4 bug.....so CF 06 is not good.....
quick wprime first...
and 05 with 06...
only 114fps at GT4 @ CF.....tssssss....drop dead.....
and a first try with some GTRs (7-6-5-15) for the 32m.....
not tweaked as it should....plug and play run...
nice... D9GTRs seem to like X58 :D
mmmm yes...they worked pretty smoothly without any "tricky" behaviour...
Very nice my friend :D
What mems are those exactly? I got D9GTR as well, but 2GB sticks, I presume I won't be breaking any records with 6GB.. but 24/7 use has priority with me ;)
Might gain some more by raising uncore one notch? Around 4Ghz is the stable limit no?
Edit: Just saw your sig lol. Pretty good for "cheapo" Transcends
thanx buddy...
at this 32m i didnt use the Transcends but some Cellshocks 1800mhz...
of course i`ll gain sth with more uncore - mem frequency but no time for testing that...
i want to try with 4200+mhz on the uncore...
very nice giorgos as usual its amazing how fast 3dmark05 is for the frequency as generally with 3d05 its all about cpu speed and with a yorkdale quad it was no faster than a dual but with the nehalem i would say its over 15% quicker than the dual core, nice going
a bit of searching of uncore + mem speeds....must go more than 4500mhz uncore eh??
2.1Vdimm,1.475-1.575Vtt...
DC mems at 8-8-8-24..
hey dinos i think you should try the F5a bios for the UD5.....seems much better to me...
at -46C with my SS....
max mhz at ~5200mhz....~160mhz more than the F4f with the same Vcore (1.53V)....
Hey m8,
very nice!
Could you do me a favor and post the full batch of your CPU? I got a 3835A552 and a 3838A685 lying ehre (both 920) and trying to decide which one to take.. and no I can't test both :D
I have a 3838A648 i920 here.
It's 24/7 stable at 4.2GHz with the Ultra-120, and benchable ( 3D Mark Vantage, wPrime 1024m, 3D Mark06, etc ) at 4.3GHz ( still on the Ultra-120 ).
Not bad, but not great either.
But what can I do with my "luck" :D
lol^^ G'luck there.
@OP:
Great job, but a lot of tweaking to be done, huh? :D
That SS must be helluvan xcellent build!
hell yeah.....A LOT of tweaking......:D
till now i was tuning.....from now on i`ll be fine tuning...
as for the SS yeah it`s very solid.....just needs fresh R410.....:p:
wish my SS had that gas and was tuned better
this chip would probably bench 4.8GHz '06 fairly easily on it then heh
Don't make me feel bad guys, I only got a 1/3 hp with R404a :D
Luckily i7 doesn't crave the cold that much...
i've benched '06 as high as 4725MHz stable with current setup and i only have R290 from cooking bottle in there and a quick tuning (20 minute job) over a year ago while kayl was here....apparently our R290 from cooking bottles is better quality than US stuff though...not pure stuff but seems to do a good job....i have a rotary in mine (1hp) which helps hold load too :D
:D
oh believe me with these cpus (especially mine and yours :ROTF:) 75mhz is a big big deal from the fact that they dont respond to extra cold....:D
