Although I realize it isn't very practicle for them to do that. Customs, population, etc. I'm sure there are people in many many countries that feel the same way, but sadly, they can't please everybody.

The SF AMD Demo should be in full swing rightnow. You folks that attend better report some news back.. maybe clock speed, vcore, multi and HT :)
Miahallen - I like your Avatar.. Damn.. who is that good looking asian guy on the right!! :P

Awe dude, that guy stole a T-shirt and then slipped into that picture of me and Jake...we didn't even notice until later
:p: :D
I'm waiting for some juicy details myself TiTON.... :slobber:
It's 12:30 here now, they should be finishing up. :D
Just got back,
6.218 gig was top clock on LN2, 5.8gig complete benchmark run, 4 gig on air, 4.4 gig on phase change, lots of goodies given away, I think 6 or 8 PhenomII (to be delivered later, bummer), several 4800 vids, and several Killer network cards (that what I got), food and drink for everyone....
Also, looks like February for mainstream availability.....
Laterzzzz................
woot!
so excited for boston demo event
you happen to know the volts used for 4ghz?
Bah, everyones probably out getting sauced! :D
Damn.. I was hoping Fudzilla was right and we would see some 940's before Christmas.
I'm sure it was a good time man, thanks for the info!!
What were the best clocks on aftermarket Air, if you can say.. ;)
EDIT: I'm half sauced Waffles and I'm not even there!! (it don't make me bad. :))
Nope, but it can do the 4 gig even with the stock cooler, however, huge coolermaster, dual fanned heatpiped massive finnage coolers were doing the deed for the air cooled units...the phase change unit @4.4 gig reported -60c, it was a Prometia, I snuck into the bios and tried to get more out of the rig, but was greeted with a blank screen, oh well....they also had a couple more air cooled units that attendees were encouraged to clock themselves....all the units seemed to be running Vista Ultimate 32bit....then there were the two gamers stations to get some juices flowing...
This time the jump that AMD is making is not small, you will be impressed.....the LN2 Phenom was a semi cherry pick, they tested only three processors from a 30 unit batch, took the best one, the other two only did 5.5 for a stable bench run, uh, I'll take one...............
BTW, I said mainstream, there may be a trickle of units out sooner....from what I understood there aren't a whole bunch of units available right now....
laterzzzz................
Thanks for the report. Very great news :)
Did they run any SuperPi, or CPU benches? Do you know any results.
Importantly.. did you see the tyep of vcore, multi, ht they were running?
Ton
Great news Man!! If it will do 4Ghz on a stock cooler, I'm sure I can squeeze a little more out of my Xig-1283.
Looks like I may have to break out my homemade WC (pond pump and Chevette heater core :p:), seems like if you keep them cool they rock...!
Rammstiener Pre-Ordered and said his would ship on the 18th, I know ya get screwed on price with Pre-Order, but whats an extra $50... :D
I'm just too excited, I'd be a happy camper with a 4Ghz Phenom.. ;)
BTW, were they demo'ing the AM2+ or the AM3 models?
heh, nope, don't make ya bad at all Dave! I've had my fair share of sauce in my day also. :)
But yeah, these little buggers sound promising!
and with liquid cooling???
Wich voltage is associated with each type of OC (air, phase, water)?
C'mon.. here is a blast from the past. Year 2001, 7,5 years ago:

Pifast ok @ 2187 MHz.
:ROTF::rofl::clap::up::yepp::D
Lets see how is Phenom II X4 940 BE :)
when will be close NDA?
I just got up, they also did a WPrime 32bit run, 6.33seconds.....
the LN2 was done @1.9v, obviously all the other clocks had less juice to the cpu's, sorry, didn't grab that info.....as long as the retail product matches the demo'd product or even comes close, the AMD fanboys will be very happy.....
I don't drink anymore, bummer, hosted bar, there were several getting a buzz from the freeflowing Vodka....
The benches were a Crysis Time Demo....and, yes, there was a blue screen, felt just like homey....
Also, regarding the HTT, all clocking was done with the bus @200, all they did was up the X's.......
laterzzzz..............
So far great news!!
Thanks bldegle2!!
@Sampsa
Oh yes!! I had 1333 Thunderbird on MSI mobo and at around 1600MHz it was so HOT that my copper/alu cooler couldn't keep up. Then I got self-designed copper WC block which did good job up to 1.7GHz! Good old times!:)
