Before this mobo I've bought a DFI LANparty DK P45-T2RS, after reading people getting 600+fsb on their duos. Big mistake, it may work w/ duos but it sucks w/ my quad, both Q9550 and Q9650.
I have a Xeon 3360 that was lying around and I decided to put that in instead of the QX9770. I just got it to post but found out that 1 stick of my OCZ PC2 8500 (2x2GB) Reaper HPC died. I now have 4GB OCZ PC2 6400 (2x2GB) in and she has posted fine. I went right to ET6 and loaded up the 3 boost/max ... she's at 3600MHz (450x8) @1.344v ... this is WITHOUT any BIOS adjustment. Question ... does going into BIOS from here and fine-tuning change the ET6 set-up?
Yes it does. You will notice after change the value in ET6 the Power On value doesnt change.
Close the ET6 and open it up again you will see the value you just adjust.
Before you start anything adjust vcore, vpll ,vtt, vmch, vdimm manually. Some of it overvolt quite nasty if you set them on auto and OC.
Well I went and put my QX9770 in this board. I seem to be having a bit of a go at going higher with this quaddie. Anyone suggest a good ref starting point? I would like to use the lower multi and a bit higher FSB for the beginning ... ;)
She's not playing nice today ... have had some strange stops and starts. I have tried Elktro's template, but I am having a bit of a problem. Need to start over and wish someone could suggest a better ref starting point!
Just put cpu and mch reference on auto/normal first. You can try set them later by ET6 or BIOS.
525x9 click
500x9 click
500x8 and 515x7 click
I use this as my reference and did just fine. All using 400 strap ; 1:1 and tRD 9 Good luck :) 333 strap 5:6 use vmch less than 1.38v.

Okay, after reading a little closer in this thread, I was able to boot into Windows at 475x9 but not at 500 ... just checking if there is something I'm missing. I am using nugzo's template from page one of this thread and applying it to my QX9770. Any thoughts on why it won't boot into Windows at 500x9?
I am now try the 10.5 multi with this QX9770. I am able to boot into windows and so far I have made it through about 30 minutes of Prime95 with 10.5 x 400MHz (4.2GHz) however, one thread quit right at the beginning and a second one quit after two minutes, the other two are still chugging away. Why is that? Not enough or too much of what?

You guys and your dam 45nm chips @ 4+ ghz makes me sick:D. I am stuck with this old 65nm quad and can only hope to maybe just maybe I can touch 4ghz with water. Seriously though you guys are getting some pretty sick clocks with these UD3 boards. Keep up the good work:up:.
Where's the UD3R BIOS? The latest one? I have a lazy streak that seems to get worse when there are so many threads going on about these Gigabyte boards ... :p:
Yay just picked up a Giga UD3P for $99 after MIR (Newegg Black Friday Sales)
Hopefully I will hit the Quad500+FSB club too
just tried to fire up my new UD3R and nothing. double checked.triple checked connections. nothing. it powers up but my monitor goes dead. parts just cycle like they are on. i never get to bios. any idea guys? is mine DOA?
Set-up in sig, only switched out mobo and q9550.
Basically this is what happens:
I power computer on, power monitor on, computer cycles once, monitor goes into sleep mode(acts if there is no input signal), computer cycles over and over and over.
I am thinking the mobo is DOA or maybe the new mobo and cpu push my PSU over the edge and it can't handle it. As for beep codes, the one damn thing I did not install is my speakers for codes...*sigh* I think I am going to go eat some breakfast and then reinstall the new mobo/cpu and see if I get any codes.
That PSU should be more than enough. I've got a VX450 powering my second system. Did you put the mobo in the case? If so, take the board out of the case, install only one stick of RAM, the video card connected to the monitor and of course the cpu and hsf. Put the board on the box it came in and connect the PSU. Make sure you've done a long clear CMOS by removing the battery. Cross the power pins on the board and see if it fires up. If it does, you may have a grounding issue with the case (put strips of electrical tape on the mounting studs before re-installing the board, the screws should pop through easily).
If not, it's possible you got a bad board.
OK tried to set it back up again, checked all connections, plugged in speakers for beeping codes. no codes and same scenario posted above. Switched out ram modules etc. no dice. At this point, I am guessing it is DOA.
Any other things you guys can think of?
Thanks
Well, I give up on it. i tried to submit a RMA from newegg, but guess what, I ordered the mobo on 10/26 and it in snow 11/30, 4 days over there 30-day RMA timeframe. I sent them an email asking if it could still be approved. If they say no, I guess the next avenue is RMA to Gigabyte?
Yeap that's your next step.

Thanks...and I was so looking forward to playing with this new Q9550 I picked up too :(
I can't even flash my damn IP35-E mobos bios to a 45nm support. I quit!!!
