nice =)
ordered my r2e and i7 965ee today :D
well, its larger than atx, but dont know why they call it atx
On the asus website they say its a ATX form factor?
Can anyone please confirm what the exact form factor is?
Thanks!
Rampage II Extreme is only 2,5cm wider than ATX standard
ATX = 305 × 244 mm
E-ATX = 305 × 330 mm
RIIE = 305 x 269 mm
aha i c so the holes on the motherboard are still on the same place then it's just that the print plate is a bit longer.
correct...
and btw, price is now @ 337€ for RIIE in germany :eek:

I would be also interesting to know which would be a maximum safe (tested) voltage for the vDIMM. Thanks!
There is a warning in the bios about using 1.65v+ for vDIMM.
Here is some overclocking with 6x1GB (3x A-DATA, 3x Crucial):

Not bad :D Seems there's no issues with many sticks.
I also did a quick comparison with Dual- compared to Triple-channel.

Not a big difference at all. The higher bandwidth seems to be mostly due to the IMC.
Already an updated 0503 bios I hit 4227 on stock cooler. 4 cores 8 threads and hot!! I can't wait for the LGA1366 waterblocks to be out.
How's the height of the heatsink right next to the soundcard ?
If we break the first two rows of fins on the heatsink, is it possible to instal a larger pci-e soundcard ?
Or is the base higher than the pci-e slot ?
And what about heat on SB / NB ?
Any need of watercooling ?
For any of you guys in the UK, the board is now listed at both OCUK (£340) and Scan (£309) although not in stock:

Looks like OCUK are a bit overpriced atm. Anyhow, this looks like an awesome board, and when i make the switch to nahalem i will most likely pick one up to replace my RE.
elmor can u tell me if the Swiftech MCW-NBMAX will fit the rampage 2 extreme like on the socket 775 rampage ?
pm'd gabe from swiftech but no replay :( .

I really want this board, but my student credit card limit is €350 max.
I need to find a place that sells for around 340 or 350 with postage included.
The search Continues!
