I go by what it says in the Bios . AOD dosen't post the correct volts on most the stuff in the bios . I run my cpu NB at 1.950v by the bios on the foxconn board . I just got some new ram and i'am using 2500 mhz on the NB and NT link on my 24/7 3.0 GHZ clock .i also got a new high stable overclock but the only way i can run it is in AOD .I got 3.250 ghz on 3 of my core and core 4 have have to run a 3.0 ghz was testing using prime to night so far np.
Then if I go by what it says in bios. Isnt the CPU-NB voltage very high? Its defaulted at 1.6850.
Dose it realy matter that the defalt volts setting by the mother board maker so if you not having any problems i would not worried
about .
Well I just dont want a broken chip or somthing like that. But good news is so far I am up to 3.3ghz with very good temps. Full load 49*c. Idle 29*c.
Grats man on the good overclock and temp (sorry if i was coming across like a :banana::banana::banana:) but your board just don't read the same as the ASUS 79-t mother boards do. Why they don't i don't know but if you are using close to defalt setting you should be ok .I'am still
playing around with a early 9850be cip just not as good as the 9950 are .
PS there may be a bug in your bios when it come to running dual changle 1066 men. with epp ran into last night . The men. would 1066 in single changle but but not dual had to declock to 800 .
Ok foxconn is telling me CPU-NB is supposed to default at 1.8. Is that true?
You should check your RAM VID btw. Mine defaults to like 2.3V for some reason, and I had one DIMM burn out before I realized that.
My DRAM is set to 1.9v.

Ok the defalt (NB votlage control) setting is 1.815v in the bios . I myself run it at 1.950v to help it run more stable at 2500 mhz. The HT voltage control i use 1.35v this also is to help it be more stablel at 2500 mhz . Now ChrisB17 you were looking for 3.2 ghz from your Phenom and you got it without having to do a hole lot .Now you keep say you are worried about braking your new PC . You got what you wanted from the cpu so why don't you call it good and have fun with your rig . I say this beacuse when every you overclock something there a chance it going to brake and if you can not hanle that beacuse of money or what ever reason you should realy think about stoping at this point. I just don't want to see you brake something and you end up having a pile of junk . I not trying to talk down on you but if you are going to keep playing around with overclocking at some point in time you will brake something and you have to be willing to say MY BAD and move on and fixing it .Now at this point in time if you were to brake you pc and that would be every bad for you why not run the rig the way you got it 3.2 ghz running 64 bit vista is a very good over clock for a Phenom and just have fun with it. I say this as a friend not trying to talk down to you or to talk trash.
Yea man your right. 3.2 seems good for me. Thanks. I just like to push things but somtimes it isnt the best thing to do.
Hi guys well i'am back to trying 3.1 ghz as a 24/7 overclock again i change over to a new case and water cooling took me some time to get things working right again . For what ever reason the water cool change my over clocking at 3.1 ghz as it wouldn't doing any more (i know idea why) . What
i now can do is get ACC +6% to repost and boot all the time now . With the +6% ACC i can now run 3.2 ghz stable at hight volts (1.55v) if i want and the highter ACC let post up and run 3.375 ghz for the frist time ever but not stable . So i'am trying 3.1ghz @1.45v, ACC +6% for the 24/7 over clock (air cool was able to do 3.1ghz @1.4v ACC +4%) .
Particle so now that you been on the foxconn a79a-s for a bit how is it working out for you ? did meet all your gold you set for it ??
ChrisB17 did the foxconn a79a-s meet your gold you had for your pc build ??
For myself it done every thing i ask for and more as long as we get a bios up-date for Deneb CPU i be on this board for couple years with 45nm cpu.
Yea this board is great. I have had Asus,Abit,Evga,DFI,MSI,ECS,Gigabyte etc. And its safe to say I like foxconn the best. My brother has a foxconn board to and it is awsome. Never has ANY problems. I love this board and I love the phenom to.
Ok guys I have a problem. When I leave my PC a screensaver will go on. But when I come back my keyboard doesn't work. I have to restart to get it to work.
Ok I need help. I put my PC to sleep last night. And woke up and turned it on and I got a BSOD. WTH.
Perhaps your OC isn't stable?
I ran prime 6+ hours large ffts. Then I ran 6+ hours small ffts. Then I ran 6 rounds of intel burn test. Then finished with 4 hours of occt. If that isnt stable I dont know what is.
Same here no sleeping/hybernating my PC is on or off period.
I been looking for C&Q in the bois from the frist day i got the foxconn board and so far from what i can see it not in the foxconn bois. Any one else been able to find it ?
Yes, I have it disabled on mine. If I recall, it wasn't labeled as you'd expect. I'll pick it out of the BIOS when I get home and post a picture.
They labelled it "PowerNow" in the bios.
Thank you guys i trun that dran thing off as soon as get home from work .
