I have a slightly better pifast saved at home. I've been gaming on the system lately and not benching... haven't even modded my 9800XT yet. Onboard NIC and sound works above 300fsb :D
I don't think there is any need for a NB voltmod. The board does over 300fsb stock. I haven't even removed the NB HSF and it barely gets warm.

How much Vdimm could you set with your mod?
With the 3.3v rail around 3.8v I can get 3.4v on the memory.
This board seems to be very resiliant to having a high 3.3v rail.
The other day I was moving a fan around while the system was on. The spinning fan blades hit the VR for my 3.3v rail voltmod, and cranked it all the way up. The system shut down but I didn't yet realize what happened. Turned it back on and got a blank screen... pulled out my multimeter and checked the 3.3v rail, it was 4.6v !! I turned it back down and everything still works fine.
How much can I set when de 3.3v rail is NOT modded? Mine is 3.34v...Quote:

You need to mod the PSU to increase the 3.3v rail. Check the Xtreme Hardware Mods section. If you're lucky you will be able to do it without opening up the PSU.Quote:

I don't think I ever ran this motherboard with a PSU that was not modded. But if you look back in this thread, corrupt was hitting 3.0v - 3.1v when his 3.3v rail was at 3.45v. So I think that with an unmodded PSU you will be lucky to hit 3.0v vdimm.

Basically, yes, although I'm using a 5K VR. For the fixed resistor I don't remember but I think it was a bit higher like 25-30 ohm.
Instead of rasing the 3.3V rail, is it possible to feed the mosfet with 5V directly?
BTW, I did the vmem-mod on a K8N, a bit diffrent layout than most of the other GigaByte NF3-boards. I did also solder directly on one of the chip legs instead of using the unused solderjoint. Here is a pic of it, 1.4MB.

hm, is it the same mods for Gigabyte K8N-Pro and Non-Pro ?
It's the same mod, but I soldered directly to the chips leg because it was easier at the K8N. My vmem is about 2,95V, think my 3,3V is low and have to mod it.Quote:

regarding vcore mod and resistor; would be safe to start with a trimmer of 50 KOhms instead of 100 KOhms ?

I'm the source of this mod, but i saw macci did almost the same mod later on his own site. It's the same same chip used on K8NXP and K8N Pro, just another placement and solderpoint (if you wish, you can solder directly on the pin on the K8NXP and K8N Pro too). I use a 1k pot for this mod myself, same value that people use on the K8NXP and K8N Pro.Quote:

Have you managed any higher voltages with this mod yet Kamerat?
I did the other mod and 3.0v was the best I could get using any BIOS setting. And before I could clockGen to 237Fsb with +0.3 setting in BIOS @ 2.96v, now it bluescreens at 235Fsb. So it's worse.
Something is not right with this mod and I have done alot of these before.
How do you know it is the "same" mod, cause if it is not then I will try it your way and see if it works any better. My 3.3 is @ 3.39v now.
The voltage drop from the 3,3 V rail to the memory maximum memory voltage depends on how much current the memory pulls. This depends on the number and type of the memory-chips that are used. I used 3,95 V on my 3,3 V rail to get 3,55 V on my memory, 1x Geil PC3700 256MB (singlesided). When I installed another stick of the same memory the voltage dropped to 3,49V.
Well I don't think I am going to try 3.9v on the 3.3 as I have heard that has killed alot of A64's
Maybe there is more than one circut feeding the memory or some sort of OVP. Thats why I was curious if your mod was any different than the un-used pin pad solder point.

I did the K8N vdimm mod on the little yellow spot on kamerat's picture, and it doing great :) thx kamerat aka Daniel, my name brother ;)
Hmm, stupid question, but what about VTT? Does that automatically adjust to 1/2 of Vdimm or what...?
