PowerColor PCS+ HD4870 1GB reviewed...

The PCS+ is supposed to have 4-phase gpu power section. Not sure if the other brands do.
I know that the regular Powercolor 1gb model uses std 3-phase.
The 4-phase power does means that other manufacturers bios files do not work with the PCS+....I verified this on my 512mb PCS+.
Also, i don't think that reference full cover waterblocks work due to the different power regulation....although i would prefer to be corrected on this issue ;)

Diamond 1gb pretty cheap at the moment here.

The reason for me posting and wanting to know people's experiences with this card (rev2), is that 1) I have it waiting at the post office and 2) I read almost EVERYWHERE that rev2 is of cheapo quality. edit: OK, sorry for the necro, but I was considering buying one and now I'm very suspicious about this "PCS" thing Powercolor's got going on. If I'm not mistaken, even the 512MB had (has?) problems.

Same thing have been reported locally here in Egypt , but out of 5 cards i have seen one of them couldn't run at the stock frequency provided by power color and was refunded , but yes it is supposed to be lower quality but for me it doesn't matter as long as it will run at advertised clocks (800MHZ core)
