Hmm, I noticed now it says nothing about two cards. I assumed it was two 4870X2 in CFX that would be used. If it's two cards there won't be any benefit with better cooling, or perhaps even any OC at all. If it's only one card however there might be some difference.

I don't doubt no gains from high card clocks in '06, that is to be expected just considering the 3870X2 results.

4870x2 holes are 42 x 42, as far as i remember 3870x2 is different...

Approx 1mm more diagonal on 4870X2 then 3870X2. Without modding Tek doesnt fit (at least here).

So many bad points in this AOCC Berlin :
- some teams / people get all the informations whereas others know very few things (not equal)
- some people have time to prepare them by benching the right products on the right mainboard whereas others don't
- some teams have LN2 pots, some teams not enough pot (cooling help for OC and OC help for points despite a low overlocked CPU...)
- one only benchmark who "cancel" the chance to compensate a bad cpu by a good gpu or tweaking. (3D06 + Super Pi 32M + Vantage or 3D03 would be far better...)
- the only goal for Asus is to break WR instead of promoting their products in a fair and skilled competition

Since AOCC Berlin isn't a contest but just an event to break WR using ASUS products. Although I love ASUS mainboard, I'm not sure to want to be an ASUS tool in their marketing activities... I will give my definitive answer tomorrow (after a good night) but if I don't see major changes (real contest instead of a common WR breaking on Asus products), I won't be at this event...

You don't have? I can bring for sell (good price) good ln2 pot if someone want it!

This AOCC is not the same competition like as AOCC in H-K, we have smaller amount of time for bench.

Time for preparation and bench is almost the same :). LN2 pot for 4870 is very specific since it's a small mounting (not compatible nVidia for example). We have LN2 pots but for nVidia / classical ATI mounting.

For information, what price and sort of pot do you have ?

There seem to be some missunderstanding, to sort it out:

Competition system config:

Rampage Extreme
2 pcs EAH4870X2 (Quad CFX)
QX9770
Tagan 1300W
Mushkin DDR3
+ all other hardware needed.

Benchmark will be only 3DMark 06, to make it fair for teams without ln2 pots for 4870X2. Highest score wins.

What's unfair? There's 0 gain running anything but air on the graphic cards in 06.
