Not to be confused with my watercooled rig....
I run one of my E8400's in an air-cooled system powered up on my P5K-E Wifi.
I have been torturing it for months with volts never going under 1.52volts. It has held up just perfectly. I run daily at 500fsb x 9 = 4500 mhz. I run my G.Skill HZ on the 5:6 divider for a nice mem speed of 1200mhz with my timings set at 5-5-5-5. It gives it more punch than 1:1 with my timings set at 4-4-4-4. Although when you start getting up into the highest reaches of the fsb it is best to fall back to 1:1 at least for now. I also tighten my sub-timings in the bios it looks like this 5-5-5-5-6-30-6-4-4.
My mem is running at 2.15v . NB is 1.55, SB is 1.2 V-core is at 1.55 in bios I don't mind running as high as 1.618v at the highest clocks. My temps have never gone higher than 57C no matter what I am doing.
Here is my Daily clock:

I ran an Aquamark pass so you could see that it scoires a pretty sweet CPU score with the 5:6 mem timings. I ran a double instance of pi just cuz...:yepp:
Here is your proof that I am running this today:

Here is my best pi time so far with this board;

Here is my highest fsb with the 8.5 multi:

This is a very satisfying system that just runs and runs.

What you do not see in this pic is the 4 inch dryer hose that is hooked to the 4inch squirrel cage fan that sits outside in the cool seasons and sits inside in front of the AC unit when it is hot outside.
This is why My machine runs so cool no matter what you stress it with.
That is 265 cu.ft. of air a minute running over mt memory ,northbridge and through the Scythe cooler.

You lucky low voltage guys! Damn!
My batch is Q746A500
How hard would it be to get a 8400 up to 4ghz with aircooling, 7 120mm fan, Noctua u9b cpu cooler, 4gb of Mushkin Redline pc-8000 and an Evga 750i ftw board.
My E8400 is sitting on IP35Pro, with 2GB of RAM Mushkin EC-PC 6400, cooled by ThermalRhigt Ultra 120 Extreem with standard 1x120cm Fan, can reach 4Ghz easy.
I use 446x9 for daily use, but my best in air is this : http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=331771

Today I have done some tuning in P5K Premium Bios :
*************cpu ratio setting :
1. set AUTO first
2. when appear INTEL SPEEDSTEP option ---> set disabled
3. and then coming back to re-set cpu ratio to '9' again

CPU Spread Spectrum : Disabled
PCIE Spread Spectrum : Disabled
Then new results of lowest 4G superpi 32M and 4.05G prime95 appear ..............
I would suggest that anything less than 8 hours on prime95, or orthos, to not be verified stable.
Eric, I got it!
Thx for your advice

I don't see what you guys are doing, Super PI does not test stability, it measures speed.
Sure I could clock my wolfdale up to 4.5-4.7 and run super PI, wow.
Prime dual thread blend at least, or orthos, or just playing damn crysis will let you know what's really stable.
if you think super pi means your system is stable, my money's on that it is not.
alright, here is a short test http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...sanity/6-1.jpg
I won't clock higher for daily usage, so 4GHz is enough for me.
Yes, 4ghz prime stable is nice, an easy hit too.
I found anything past 4ghz was a challenge to get prime stable, not impossible though.
4.4 and up on air is not really possible with prime. With my orchi, I got as high as 4.36ghz which is good enough until I go water :)
But this is the extreme overclocking section not the extremely stable section. I think the point of most of these posts was to show the potential of the new chips. Noones going to be testing stability with ln2.
I totally agree with you, mrcape
he may enter into wrong forum to find stable cpu ;)
here is my recent short test at 4G

Just arrived my new Toy....
I have Problems with Temps because i use a 5 Euro Cooler but soon i hope my watercooling will be ready for action again....:D
I set 1.18 Vcore from BIOS
Its not Stable but it will be.....

I think with water 5Ghz is Possible....
Q814A3?? i will check later
Very low voltage for this clock.. awesome... cant wait to see your water results. with better temps you can push it higher :)

very special chip, Dagalidis
did you test the max. FSB ?
nice cpu, 4.5GHz @ water wont be a problem
[QUOTE=erickwok;2953095]
My P5K Pro tops out about 545 FSB at dafeult BIOS options...
Still unmoded and i dont know about max CPU FSB..
Its a Good Chip but need to drop temps... :D
I stay here for 24/7 until watercooling be ready....
