I think people are failing to realize that for $400 you are scrapping the bottom of the barrel in regards to parts and labor. Just like cars, put cheap parts in and you'll be rebuilding in two weeks time. OCZ should send me one so I can rip out the internals and build something worthy of selling to the public. Waiting for these to show up on ebay :-\
hrm... i'm not big on phase either.. but for subzero temps for 400 dollars.. doesnt seem to bad to me... can easily get a 400 dollar loop that wouldnt do as well... let's hope this product doesnt go down the poop hole for crappy quality control

As to the reviewer, he's not suckling Intel/ASUS/Foxconn/ATI's teat. I doubt he has a stack of 15 QX chips sitting around, nor a skid of 8800 cards. If you haven't noticed, a lot of websites out there STILL review cards like the 8400GS. When you're a website that actually y'know... does reviews, manufacturers tend to like their entire regime represented OCZ is the same here. Every user that reads that review may not salivate over the unit, but there's plenty of fools and their money.
As an aside to that, phase tools aren't exactly cheap. To build your own unit you need HVAC experience, you need the gasses, the tanks, a vaccum pump, and a plethora of other goods. Correct me if I'm wrong, but half the time isn't the cost of tooling near equal to the cost of a unit itself? After all, I mean if it were so cheap, and so easy, Chilly1 wouldn't have anything to do with his days.
So why not share our thoughts and knowledge so google searchers who read this thread realize NOT to spend the cash?Quote:

you know guys I post info for you and it seems next to none of you read it....so here we go again.
We ordered and paid for a large number of units....we had issues with the units and we had massive delays.
We eventually got the units to the USA where we have to hand check each and every unit....we decided we are ONLY going to sell these units direct and to 110V customers only.
Once the units we feel are ok to sell are sold...thats it...NO MORE will be ordered.
now, things can change, but this was the last word I had on the cryo-z.
There is no need to talk to Ryan or anyone else on Cryo-z...i will feed you all the info you need here. With Cebit there was a delay setting up the ability to buy off the PCpower website, this should be sorted soon if not already.
I just got back from snowboarding for a week in France so please give me some time to talk with the office and get some final answers.
Regarding heatload, my first alpha unit was tuned for 180W or so, this unit is not a cascade, it was was always meant to be a BUDGET single stage unit.
Which reminds me, can we see some dual-core action too? Or is it asking too much :help:
QC overclocking is a lot to ask, I think we all agree on that, but we still want to see if it's possible ;)

This does not mean we only have 10 for sale....i can not tell you how many we have but its way more than you have seen anyone post on this forum.
I have also asked we consider selling the sub quality units to phase builders etc as a way of still offering a cheaper unit that can be re tweaked etc but these will not be covered by an OCZ warranty....this is still under discussion though.
To all...you have to read what I post and not go off hear say etc, I have been 100% honest all along regarding cryo-z including the issues we had and reasons for delay.
Sometimes bringing a product to market proves to be harder than what is actually imagined in the first instance...NIA has taken some times as has Cryo-z and hydrojet....you will see all soon but cryo-z will have very limited availability.
Well the selling the scrap one's to builders is imo a VERY good idea, not only for you to cut your losses but it will also mean the prices for custom SS will go down as the base unit would be very cheap. Thread already was subscribed, thanks Tony for being open and honest.Quote:
