Hi there, I wonder if anyone can tell me if a triple-gpu setup (3780 + 3870 X2) works in windows xp 32bit. I'm a little confused about the news I read here and there, thank you very much!

alle the cards in the 3000 serie ar compatible in crossfire
nice 1.....looks like i know whats goig on tomorrow then...lol....
The reason you are confused is that currently there is no solid answer. Drivers are coming out almost weekly (Beta versions) that are trying to fire up CrossfireX. CrossfireX (If you aren't familiar) is that you are inquiring about. It's 3 or more ATI cards.
The bottom line for the moment is this, ATI does support 3 3870 in that configuration but they are still trying to get their drivers situation under control.
Does that help? I do believe there are other's doing the same thing (Here, on the site). I've even seen 3870s with 3850 in Quadfire and it does seem to work. We just need to ride out the rough driver days.
Thanks a lot. Well I got 2 3870 in CF, so yes I see the concept. I wanted to get rid of one of the 3870's and put in a 3870x2. The moment I realized that you can only run the 3870x2 in dual GPU mode, I told myself to let it be. I play a lot of games that don't like CF at all, so... This is really to bad, as the X2 can be seen as a "fake-crossfire", there really should be a way to run only one GPU, primarily because of the energy consumption, and furthermore because no one really needs two GPU's to write a forum post (I guess)...thanks anyway was just confused because triple SLI only runs in Vista, greez
Csn someone please enlighten me and where you might find beta CrossfireX drivers??
Nice results.
Sadly my 3870x2*2 is getting me lower scores than my single 3870x2.
Any tips for getting better performance as I'm starting to be very dissapointed in my 03dmark06 results going down after installing the second card?

Nice Andre, thanks for sharing:up:
This is going to sound like a flame but why did you buy 2 of them and not another 3870 to use in a tri fire configuration?:p: I guess money isn't a object, in that case:clap:
The scaling involving quadfire is horrible to say the least:(

Hi here, I come along to ask if there is a problem with CF 3870X² under Win XP sp2, because I have this:
3DM06
CF disable, reading in GPU-Z: http://pix.nofrag.com/d/d/4/1702bdee...1f50d669tt.jpg
CF enable, same reading log: http://pix.nofrag.com/6/5/5/9261f998...7afd10e9tt.jpg
score are quiet the same...
Drivers 8.5 without CCC. I hope not to be obliged to go on with Vista, hoping you guys have an idea to share with me getting this working properly ;)
P.S.: I tried 8.2 also and it was not better at all, sometimes I had lots of reboots and/or BSOD's... :/
Help please
CFX (3 cores or more) is Vista only...
need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ... need ln2 ...
CrossfireX is indeed Vista only, if you want to make use of the other 2 GPUs in your system you will need to move to Vista.
Oki, thanks to both of you.
can ? this ,
