If so, what is going to save us from natural death? Indeed, progression. (by natural death i mean earths energy running out/sun engulfing earth/meteor destroying us etc etc

Instead of time travel which surely we will never master alternative (destroy us). Colonization is the only practical means of avoiding our natural death. Which shouldent be for another 5 billion years.

If we're unlocking the secrets of time travel later in this year, why haven't we heard about it already? ;)

I know I'd send myself some stock quotes... as would everyone else... which would probably lead to a collapse of the stock market in general. Hmm, maybe I wouldn't. Therefore, because I wouldn't send myself stock quotes in the future, and I have failed to receive said stock quotes, time travel *must* already be a reality.

If I remember correctly the energy required is upwards of the amount of energy present in the entire universe

Also read up on a book called a Briefer time in History by Hawkings. He presents a compelling arguement of both why time travel is most likely impossible, and if it is possible only future travel is possible, or in otherwards be can't tell anyone in the past we've been to the future.

However, kinetic energy models show that if we start making super colliders, or not just two piece arcing accelerators, more like, 50-100 path collidiers, we might be able to manage it :)
