so excited about those preview
I presume you guys are all joking. If i ever lay my hands on this lovely mobo, the first thing i did do is to get rid of all those horrible looking pipes and waterblocks. Damn they look like a nightmare. Moreover how does these unknown blocks preform:confused: Dudes pls. voice out your hearts and thots:mad:
My old Supermicro SC850 cube case has 10 slots..designed for a 13x17"SWTX board(quad cpu)..1998 technology to the rescue!
Very interesting Peter, got me wondering :D
I don't know about you guys, but i wanna know about this first motherboard, maybe the record breaking new quantum force motherboard i've been hearing about?? I want it so bad to hook up some nice R680's to it.... Any new info on these? When are they being showed at CES? What chipset X38 or X48? ANYTHING?!?! lol I love these quantum force boards nothing like them :)
If anyone saw the Fudzilla news on this, I popped them an email about not citing their source when it was clear they ripped it off from here
quadfire for what? each lane is reduced to 8x!! pointless if they arent at full bandwidth.
Still waiting tomorrow to see this monster IRL !
Do you want more better sized pics ? (Don't blame me Sham :D)
I've made a little analys of pics and Information I've about this board on Syndrome-OC's Web :

[jooke]CES is announced in France  -> proof
:ROTF: [/joke]
Enjoy ;)
w.r.t the first mobo, i'm in love with teh CPU socket area, and the massive clearance and cleanliness in general.
The BIOS shots above look fantastic - finally someone making sense of the miriad of setting available with pointers on what affect different components!
ORLY? put 4..no 2 R680s and run 3dmark06 at 8x and then at 16x. the amout of bandwidth would choke the cards, if 8x didnt make a difference then ATI would have used a 16x bridge on the R680 instead of a 32 lane bridge. if some one is buying a mobo that big, they arent going cheap on the gfx cards.
Ok, now this is just silly.
I am talking from experience, and 3dmark06 scores right now. I had the asus commando (16x4x), and I now have the asus maximus formula (16x16x), I don't see how their can be any argument over my point.
and I am talking r600, the more bandwidth hungy ones.
Afaik, the dual gpu ones, don't support quad cards and octofire. But being as they don't exist retail yet, guessing at what they'll need is pointless.
