they probably jsut squeezed the 8800gt boards in there and connected them with a tiny sli bridge and slaped a black box around it all so u couldnt see it.

That thing looks interesting... what's even more surprising is that the second card is below the card with the PCIe connector instead of on top..
At first I thought the picture in the OP portrayed a triple-sized radiator.
I own the 7950gx2 now and it's kept up with a lot of things up until now. It is definitely showing its age on BioShock and current games, but it powered me through a lot. I liked the SLI on a single card option just because I wanted an intel chipset board and the performance would be better than getting a single card solution. Sure it was expensive at the time, but I don't regret my decision. I don't go through tons of hardware so I'm pretty set with what I buy.. it's lasted a year and a half so far so it's worth it IMO. I am just anxious to see how this new gx2 does.
the problem with the 7950GX2 besides the terrible scaling in Quadsli performance was that the next gen cards where very close.... as we all know by know the 8series was a big step forward performance wise, so no wonder 7950GX2 coudnt shine.
i highly DOUBT they will call it that if it exists
so wait... seperate pcbs... so basically i can buy 2 8800gt cards now, wrap tape around them and connect the sli bridge... and i have a 9800gx2?
so whats the point of waiting for the gx2?
If the two PCB thing is true then it totally sucks
Do the GX2's have the same compatibility problems as regular SLI (i.e. dependancy on profiles) or does the system see them as one card?
basically nvidia dont think ati is a worthy competitor for them to release G100... damn we need a better competition here
We're having a bit of discussion on a Dutch forum where we debate the authenticity of these pictures..
What's with the lack of output connectors, 2 DVI stacked on top of each other and no TV-Out and quite frankly I can't even see a fan where it supposed to be, it looks more like an empty shell.
Also where are the vent holes where the output connectors are...?
Do people believe this is fake?
You guys don't think that's a fan behind the vent? I can almost see something shaped like half the fan. maybe not idk.
