That is insane! Lucky bastard:p:
i hear ya. everyone deserves a good chip once in a while and i have had an un-usually long and bountiful string of un-lucky chips...hopefully that changes with E8500/E8600s. you just happened to get lucky with the right chip...nothing could be worse than spending a G on a CPU and getting a dud.
BTW, any idea of what max FSB is on air/water with your beast? i don't think i have seen any screens showing that particularly but may have missed it.
did i read you have 1.47v and 1.4v under load ? does your board have that bad of vdroop ? i thought asus has damper or something that stops vdroop ?
if so that is where your prime stable problems are .
nice chip !!!!
hehe, I don't overclock ram, ever. for me its either the cpu or the motherboard, and it rarely is the motherboard. when you run small FFT, its either the CPU or the mosfets that are bombing, both of which mean I gotta turn it down a notch on the cpu. I never push my motherboard to high FSB levels, I am very conservative I just increase the FSB to open up the memory bandwidth a bit.
so you can see where my P95 fanaticism comes from. if its small fft stable, its stable :)
:D Yep - just one quick test with 1.400 volts for You - not maxed out...:p: :

 Nope - no Vdroop in da house....., where did You get this from? So far I did not feed the chip above 1.448 volts at all......;)
lawl it says socket 370 :)
but congrats on that chip, it really is a gem
:D Here's another nice one - 460FSB / 4.6Ghz / 1.440 Vcore:p: :

Finally broke 11GB/s Copy.............:yepp:
Use this : http://www.lavalys.com:8081/beta/eve...fj4k0xzqsg.zip :D.
Nice chip.
Very nice bro. :toast:
What was your stock voltage and VID?
What's the idle and load stock power consumption?
Stock idle and load temps (cooling/case/fan speeds/ambient)?
4GHz how many volts are needed for 8hr P95 stability and the temps?
I hope 4GHz sub 1.45V 24/7 solid is achievable. Worth the price then.
nice chip, mine sucks ass. :p:
heats like a mofo and need tons of voltage, anyways what version of coretmep your using x.x.6 or x.x.4?
When it is x.x.4 add 5K to your temp readings. ;)
Good chip:up:
Same batch as mine:D
A fast test with liquidcooling, not push the cpu to the limit:

This is with Tuniq Tower:

1,632V at air... hmm, care to show everest core temps? :p:
btw. mine is a L739A648 and is a "dog", batch says crap about how this cpu perform. ;)
Haha, same italian ebay shop?
1.2500 stock and  1.1375 VID
Never ran the chip at stock speed..., first boot 10 x400:p:
See above
 Didn't try it so far - but I'll check it one day - btw I usually run 3-4 hours........;)
 I can run 4.6GHz at 1.44 - not prime, but stable for working so I see no problem in a 4GHz run prime sub 1.25.
:welcome:
Well there's your luck made: it's all in the stock VID. ;)
Try and do a power consumption test idle/load at whatever speed/volts please. Also if 4GHz is that easy you may do the P95 3-4hr at those MHz, why not :D
You made a good observation about CoreTemps. People are using it whilst its reading lower than ambient with these new chips which is obviously wrong. I saw a review saying Wolfdale was 22C idle air with 25C ambient, LOL. :p:
It would be minimum 10C higher if even that.
Thanks for the feedback! :toast:
:D O.K., how about 10.5x450 at 1.488 volts........:p: :

Sadly only 1M - but I'm working on it. Happy new year party to all ppl here around...
lol so much crap running in the backgorund, disable it and im sure you can get a better time with spi. ;)
i see, good luck with it. :)
hm, that is not true completely. I ran 8*443 for testing and it would pass an hour of small fft but would block at running half an hour of DotA :D
camouflage, man sub 10sec SPi with so little work :( , it really is you get what you pay for, of course there's a bit of luck there.
when you get sober after the new year-party give it more volts and test it a bit more for stability ;)
enjoy your miracle chip
