Oh I think 2008 is going to be worse than 2007.
BTW, someone on another board claims "little bird" told them AMD is cutting 15% of workforce on Dec 14.

I propose an Official XS Betting Pool on estimated date of AMD bankruptcy...
I think all of these threads about AMD dying (at least in the near future) are a bit overexagerated. But it still makes me sad though because I have a s939 A64 in my current computer and my old computer that no one uses has the old Thunderbird. Next upgrade will probably be switching over to the dark side and getting a Penryn :(
Well, a poster on another forum, who works for AMD, said a few weeks ago that something was happening in Dec. that he was pretty excited about.
Wouldn't the BIOS fix make them clock higher?
:( Thats sad... really hope they come back with a nice product quickly.
Considering the last AMD "Do you Dare launch", its probably going to be an unlocked Phenom. But hopefully, it'll be the B3 or the R700. Possibly the R700. It would make some sense out of their 3800 price drops. Which atm makes little sense.
WTF is going on with AMD, man they are a mess!!!! I hope they get their stuff together or they will go out of business, mark my words.......i hope ATi gets sold to save the brand.
if amd were to release a card before christmas that blows away the 8800ultra and is priced similarly to what the hd 2900xt was at launch, i will buy it.
No, this is not a 'clocking' potential fix, it is a stability fix... it enables a 2.4 Ghz or 2.6 Ghz part, true... but it does not magically change anything holding it back other than fix a bug that would appear at these speeds, or so AMD says.
However, the TR news release suggest that it is not this bug that is holding back clocks at all... which would suggest other problems (like binning).
Man there goes my dual socket F+ Server set up yet more delays:mad:
I was actually tempted to do a dual socket F+ for my parents, doesnt look hopeful now.
