Better be sure of the warranty. My BloodIron has a sticky that says warranty void if removed, that is the heatsink on the NB chipset. Might be the same on the LT ... check to be sure ...

I have the IFX-14 Inferno on my E6850 with the DFI BloodIron ... I think that it will fit on the LT X38 board, at least I am hoping it will ... I am looking at gettng either the LT or the UT ... it should do well with the E6850, IMHO ...

UT is apparently EOL so you will have to stick with the LT or wait for the x48
That means "End Of Life", DFI cancelled it.
There will be only X38 LT.
@AKHandyman:
I already have my IFX-14 here and preordered the X38LT. I will post pictures as soon as possible. The SB Heatsink will be replaced by an TR HR-05 IFX-SLI which is already on it's way :)
Soooooo, I guess it's either wait for the X48 to go all the way with DDR3 or get the LT and make the best of it ... BTW, have you looked at the Noctua chipset cooler? The NC-U6?

I have it on my DFI Infinity975X and my NB temps are much lower than when I had the HR-05 on it. Besides, the Noctua has a much better retainer system. A good 60mm fan can fit on it as well and the NB stays well below 34C ... just a thought ...:)
Manufacturers just can't win. Most complained that the P35 was not available without heat pipes when first introduced. Now that the X38 non-heatpipe version is being released it's the same but opposite complaint. Other then the onboard cooling solution both versions of the X38 are identical.
vcore max?
I hope my pqi pc2-4300 ram works with this board
Results? :(
very eager to get this board.
Can you run 2x2GB sticks with this or do you need 4x1GB sticks? because on motherboardpro.com it says that the dfi x38 supports "up to 1gb ddr 2 devices"
The up to 1Gb DDRII devices is the actual chips on the PCB. The specification your question is addressing is 4 240-pin DDRII DIMM sockets max 8GB. The board will support 2x2GB modules.
Well, I ordered the LT from MotherboardPro.com and it should go out today, and be in my hands by the end of the week. Of course you guys who live in the Lower48 will probably get theirs sooner, cause of shipping. It takes a while longer for Big Brown to get to Alaska, but I don't mind. MBPro is the best!! Charged me only $7.99 for freight!!
Can't wait!! :D
I just chatted with motherboardpro.com and they cannot 100% confirm that the boards have been received yet. When they are, they will be shipped from CA and not GA, to aviod anymore further delays. So far, they said though, no bad news today as of yet.
Shawn
I can confirm that as well; however, I must make a correction to my above post as far as shipping is concerned. I had to add an additional $12 because Alaska is soooooo far away ... (UPS and FED-EX !!!) for those who think we belong to a third world country, you're gay! I mean, we are the 49th state of 50! Get a clue, will ya?
they should just hurry up and ship this out, or make up their mind as to when they want to public to receive this board
MOBO pro is listing the board as IN STOCK! now so i guess that means that the boards shipped (woot!) mine should be here by Christmas after all
god i just realized why i love DFI so much, everytime they have a new LP board out...the amazing color combinations.lol
Is the UT/Heatpiped X38 100% cancelled from a DFI source?
CN :)
i also read a email by dfi itself in some german forum.
In the mail someone from dfi says that UT has been cancelled to keep pricing of the board attractive - also in regards to the fact that X48 is around the corner. It wouldnt make sense to release UT at premium price and it might put off people or just make them wait for X48 instead. Thats what i got from that email.
Thanks for sharring those picktures, looks real nice.
The CPU Mosfets cooler looks as if there could be attached some heat pipe cooler on there, was there not a additional cooler to mount on there?
