Do any of u guys own a asus branded 8800gt? I've just ordered 1 of these it is @ stock specs and the only 1 i have managed to get and within minutes it was out of stock. i want to know the max overclock for this card in specific. i could not hold out any longer and opted for a 299US card @ newegg that was plain stock... :D u guys can beat me later, but let me know if i still have a potential card on my hands.
i put the MCW60 block on the card today with MC14s on mem chips - Vregulators..
so far...the card needs power...definetely needs a Vmod..
what's stock voltage on these cards? it's great to see high temps were still due to garbage stock heatsinks. looks like lots of potential left if voltage isn't near the limit yet. maybe it's time to give up the 7900gs soon. been a fantastic card
nibitor says 1.1Vgpu i think...imagine what the card will do with 1.3-1.4V..............
question about ATI tool. Does it mater when it says "no errors fo xx seconds" or should I visually check for errors?
GD. I need a quad core. I'm getting 11800 in 3D mark with my 8800gt at 720/1015/1782. Is there somehing wrong or does quadcore make that much of a difference?
att is usually a good indication although i've definitely had times when it'd be artifacting but att wouldn't pick it up. mind you this was with a 7900gs and not a 8800gt.
This is the best I can do stable. Performance is barely increased from an OC up to XFX's XXX speeds 670/975. Sounds like voltage is the issue. Is it even worth waterCooling this card if you're not going to Vmod it?

My card is still on stock air unmodded.

i got 730/1800/2000 crysis stable with my Palit 8800GT and a 13.5k 3dm06 score with my E6400 @ 3600
q6600 3.2 4*1024 900 cl5
8800gt stock-12500(on gtx stock was 12300)
700*1750*2000 - 13800
ill get q6600 to 3500 memory to 1100 and 8800gt on water....
I forgot where I read it, either firingsquad or THG, but "All early 8800GTs are manufactured by Nvidia for their board partners, this includes the factory overclocked versions."
So brand doesn't matter with regard to OC, they are all off the same line except for the sticker, or in some cases the modified cooling (Palit?).
Also it's probably worth mentioning that my plain 8800GT from EVGA was actually factory OC'd to the Superclocked speeds (650/950). I was able to further bump it to 675/975 without artifacts in ATITool and with custom fan thresholds in RivaTuner. There is a great guide for how to do this btw, just Google it. My card doesn't exceed 73* under load with 60% fan.
I just ran a bunch of tests with the Far cry benchmark (1280x1024, shader 3.0, ultra details, 16x antrio, 8x antialiasing (x3210 3520mhz, 1100 memory, gigabyte P35C

Everything was overclocked with rivatuner 2.06. The numbers barely jump at all in frame rates. They even get worse when the gpu is really overclocked.. The gpu is watercooled and the board has ram chips... barely moves above 34c
I can verify that I scored better in 3d mark with 700/970/1728 than I did with 720/1000/1820.
Hate to break it to you, but that HSF is incomaptible with the 8800GT.
I think you'd be better looking at the latest revision of the HR-03, or the Zalman VF1000/ ZMRHS-88 combo.
It's great to see all these results. A good friend of mine has been looking after my 8800GT for me whilst i've been away. So im eagerly anticipating getting my paws on mine. I've got UT3 and Crysis and STALKER to try out too.
With regard to PiTHON earlier who got diminishing returns with an overclock of his memory above 1000mhz, is that due to the core running to slow or too fast for the memory? Out of rhythm with each other. Im sure the same thing happens with CPU/ RAM.
Of course i could be wrong. It's been known to happen, frequently. :yepp:
i believe i reahed the limit of the card unmodded...

guys around what score should i be getting in vista 64 bit with a gt @740/1800/1000 and cpu @ 2.14 ghz.im getting 9500 but think i should be getting more ?
Dunno about scores with that processor, but I got better scores when I backed the OC off a bit. I think it was artifacting though.
PLEASE HELP!?!?!?
What's wrong with my setup! From wha tI can tell, with my specs and the GT clocked to even 700/1000/1800 I should be getting over 13000 in 3D mark. I'm barely breaking 12k. Even though I run 3D mark at 1280x1024 could it make a difference that I have a 1920x1200 monitor?
WHat could be wrong?!?!?
