Nods in agreement :)
Honestly, don't see why after all this time, 680i chipset still way behind.. especially on quad core/fsb :(

The encryption by itself isn't that much of a stumbling block. It's the number of keys that need to be retrieved, each encrypted differently. But the bigger issue is once successful nVidia will financially destroy anyone who releases, hosts or helps distribute the driver.
Of course they do, but still anyone with a high res monitor will go the 680i because of SLI. So they still sell boards, not to mention ppl u don't oc or do a mild one.
To me the only situation that's going to make NV rethink licensing SLI to intel, is if and when AMD/ATI releases a really good card and ppl start considering crossfire.
Well, Nforce2 and Nforce4 were pretty ok... but after playing with Intel 965 and 975 chipsets (while nforce 590 was sucking), then going to 680i... wow.. I am so not happy with Nvidia chipsets anymore...
scratches head
but D00 revisions that have been around forever now are all great Quad FSB ocers
the problem is that Asus is not choosing to update their motherboards like eVGA and XFX did. I can understand them not wanting to give the service you would get with evga swapping out motherboards for new revisions but surely after all this time they could update the chipset  Gigabyte is also still using the older revision and are even worse then rest.....much like the DFI 680i boards
but i still think Intel is a much better overclocking chipset currently. There are no strange memory issues in terms of OC holes or some odd instability moments and REALLY strange voltage instability that happens particularly with different chipset volts not to mention piss poor SuperPi performance and hence RAM performance in general. They also tend to lose it a bit in top end overclocks with LN2 and monster volts. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< WEEEEELLLL these are just some of the things i've communicated to them and i know with some of the newer products they will be releasin they are looking at addressing absolutely everything suggested VERY SERIOUSLY ............I reckon we are going to see a large improvement with the 1stQ '08 mobos ;)
i can understand your sentiments somewhat looking at your sig and the board you are using.....i have one of those as well and they aren't very good at all :( You will also find that the evga and XFX boards that use latest reference designs are MUCH better >>> no joke. One thing i still disagree with you though. There was a massive improvement from 590 to 680....it was huge man. I have not seen someone improve mobo chipsets so much in the next chipset revision. Nvidia has always been good with AMD chipsets and they had to refocus a little seeing that Intel took all the performance crowns. They are taking a while but i think they are getting there
dinos you just have to look at eVGA motherboard forum to see latest rev still has other serious issues http://evga.com/forums/tt.asp?forumid=13 and with 1yr warranty in OZ not very enticing heh
my Q6600 B3 ES does 501FSB water cooled and Q6600 L725A903 G0 does 493FSB water cooled on P35 chipset but latest rev 680i seen range only from 400-470FSB (huge variation there)
lol hahaha you know what i mean :p:
hmmm imagines hammering these 8800GT cards with super high DDR3 clocks on the Gigabyte X38 mobo and OVP protection removed EEK :D
Does anyone know if Intel 5000X chipset does SLI?
lol i just have Gigabytes atm heheh
actually i'm eyeing the P5E3 but need someone to volt mod the damn thing lol :D
if they can crack the drivers, and keep up with every nvidia release, i would seriously donate some cash to these guys!!!!!!!!
same here
and also from another bunch of guys i know
who all like me
wasted loads of time and money changing so many 680 boards
willing to bet if we do a poll u will find a lot of 680 users must have changed atleast 3 boards.. might as well used that money to fund
this guys to crack their drivers.
it is not that simple for them
they can't release drivers without supporting third party chipsets as well.....there is a :banana::banana::banana:load of work there and you will get more money on one side and less on another with a lot more work in support......it just doesn't make commercial sense
but f(l)uck commercial crap if we can get cracked drivers :D:D:D:D:D:D

All we need is for AMD/ATI to release a competitive/superior gpu and we will no longer have a need for Nvidia. Right now, from the outside looking in, I don't understand why Nvidia won't support SLI on Intel chipsets. Economically, I bet the graphic cards are more profitable on a per unit basis than a motherboard.
After all, how much more revenue could the sale of motherboards have added to Nvidia's bottom line?
Pete better hide your postal adress as Nvidot's SWAT team is gonna erase you from our beloved planet...
Would be nice if they could hack current Nforce release to be used on X38...
Joining the queue...
On the contriary, my 680i LT SLI @ SLI from eVGA does 511MHz for 1M or 32M anyday withouth any modifications, coupled with 4 sticks of D9GMH 512MB on 1T:
It does 555MHz 24/7 stable on P965 though.
