From 4-7 TRRD makes little to no difference so loosening it is not a penalty anyway. Stability is considerably enhanced tho.

Update.. Another issue with the board that must be fixed asap with a new bios. When you cold boot the board sometimes the cCPU ooler starts for 3 seconds and then stop and will not start again imeadiately. The thing i reach WinXP loading screen and the CPU fan was still stopped. This happened with stock cooler also this is not good especially if you are overclocking..
I hope they will fix this with a bios update.I will send a mail to dfi about this.
Edit: I switched to manual fan control in bios and it seems this correct the problem with fan.I overclocked again the processor at 3003mhz and in Smart Guardian with Orthos prime stays at 68-69C constant with fan speed at maximum.I spent about 5-7 minutes in orthos and no error. I got some errors with memory at 749mhz (DDR2 533).I switched to DDR2 400 and i raised FSB until i match 3003mhz at CPU and now orthos is clean but the CPU temperature is still pretty high.70C i read is maximum for the CPU.In full load it stays at 69C constant.. argh.I don't know who to trust now.. The smart Guardian or the PC health menu...The intersting thing is the oc settings will not work until i don't set the memory voltage at 2.2V.Now i will lapp the CPU and i hope i will win at least 7C or maybe 10C.Maybe you guys can post the temperatures before and after lapping. Thanks
hey i got a few ideas for you but its best if you msg me through aim/msn or yahoo. This will just take too long trying to go over the possibilities on the forum. Yes i am aware of the fan issue. The way I work around it is set 100% in bios but let smartgaurdian be on auto setting with max temp at 50C , which keeps the fan speed pretty decent and the temps south of 50C. Your temperatures are really worrying me. I would clock it down till I can find some other way to lower the temps. 69C is way too close to heat damage threshold for me .
Update:
I make the PC stable at lower VCore 1.43v (real) in bios is set to 1.4v.I could get the PC boot and also entering in windows at vcore 1.375v but when i run Orthos (blend - stress CPU and memory) i get errors in first minute so i upped at 1.4v.I get errors in orthoss also at this but after 6 minutes. The thing is i played diferent games like Colin Mcrae DIrt, Half life 2 deathmatch (a couple of hours) and the system is very stable. No crash during gaming or overall. Also i got a jump in Lost coast bench from 95fps to 122fps.The buggy race is much more smoother. The system is stable but orthos not.Now when i make orthos about 6 minutes i get a stable 58-59C CPU temp so it's nice now.Now the latencies for memory at DDR2 400 but with fsb is at 549 are 3.3.3.9.With this voltage the cpu in idle is 27-30C.Also in 3dmark06 i get 9607marks vs 7800 before.
Set cas latency to 4.It is probably the cause of orthos failure.
I tried to select 4.4.4 but the pc won't boot anymore or freeze at boot screen. grrr
Update
I succefully selected 4.4.4.15.For unknown reason i could run only with 15 number instead the auto setting 12.Now i got orthos stable for 43minutes.I stopped it after it.Also with this settings i got a 7FPS less in lost coast...ARGH
What is max fsb with this board?
Can somebody test max fsb?I need about 370-380
