so i got my 6420 now to 405x8 3,24ghz under stock 1,35v
seems to be stable so far
well regretably no boot for me over this tried up to 1,45v still no boot
could be the board not sure

FSB wall by 480FSB whether 6x or 7x multi. I'm at 470x7 (3.29GHz) 9 hours stable with 1.45v (1.475 set in BIOS)
6420 L644G @ 400x8 needs 1.34 volts for stable 7x24 folding under Linux
6420 L647G plus a T after the S line @ 400x8 Rock Solid @ 1.312 vcore Linux folder too.
Will share my crappy results...
E6420 L710A296 stable @ 8 x 350, 2.8 gHz, 1.375 v
boots but not orthos stable untill 3.2, further up nothing but troubles
Once been able to boot on 3.6, but only 1 core showed
On air, as seen in sig...
Further testing necessary :(, but my hopes are not too high since they seem to get worse, and this is a 2007 week 10 bloody chip.
cheers, r0n1n
Looks like Intel has many 4MB DIEs, which don't bin that well.
(Heh, 2,8G is way above original clock)
They work - so it was easy to ship 4MB products for the same prices,
compared to the 2MB versions. Too bad for us (overclockers), they have
less headroom. I wouldn't buy 6x20 versions again.
-> Seems like there are 2 version - one which work with 1,25V (they look
good) and the second which work with 1,35V - don't buy these.
Thats not correct i have a 6420 1,35v stock voltage.
425 x 8 3,4ghz @ 1,375v - aircooled
also see here : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=144952
This chip can probably do much more with more volts but its not intresting for me because my aircooled rig probably wouldnt be able to handle the temps resulting.
i just got a e6320 and a DS3 as a cheap family system. wonder if ill be able to hit 3Ghz with stock cooling???
E6420 @ 3.6ghz at 1.55 V 450 x 8 - air cooling

i get some pictures up soon..
i can push it more futher, but my ram is really freaking hot.. barely touch it even.
Using E6320 @3.4 using 1.34v real with water cooling and small FFT for prime95 stable for 1hrs so far
FPO: L652B342
seems like my mobo or cpu is hitting the wall..at 500 i cant reboot my system and any fsb above 505, i cant boot even my vcore (max i tried is 1.55v real) and the rest of the voltage has increase nearly to max
I find the idea that air is not suitable for any extreme overclocking quite sad, air cooling does require more patience and more focus on temps but you can push your system quite far if you are careful. Extreme is not only for water or DI or LN2. Here are my efforts with the E6420 on air. Tunig Tower 120 CPU cooler

I posted more detail here
Let us know how it goes :) I'm re-testing mine now, it's been 13 hours running orthos around 56-57C coretemp overnight (very cold ambients though). I'm using a Scythe Ninja with the 120mm fan and an additional 92mm fan on the opposite side (push / pull air flow). I'm hoping that the AS5 will settle and drop temps further. If it doesn't I'll have to re-apply, I was getting better slightly temps on my last mount.
470x7 1.45vcore (1.4160v according to asus software in windows)
Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300 @ DDR2-1175 5-5-4-7-3-35-3-3-3 with 2.15v and a 70mm fan pointing in their direction. Screen shot will come if it passes 24 hours.
well my new e6320 L707A573 so far 1.38v 7x428 4-4-3-5 g.skill. 3 ghz was all i was really after so i guess this is good. idle im @ 35'C, but I have very bad cable management, and equally bad system airflow. oh and this is with AC freezer 7 pro.
Just last night got my e6420 (L647G476) 8hrs stable at 3.58 gHz
Screen Here
At stock (1.35) I was able to get 3.2 gHz stable
E6320, L648G420, BOOT From Bios :)
Awesome chip caesarean. I guess that's on water ?
I wish my current budget would allow for another 65nm 775 chip, the E6420 would be my choice.
i lowered vcore to stock and L707A573 is still stable 7x428. temps are 34'C idle in my poorly ventilated case with artctic freezer 7 pro.
e6320 L707A573 7x458 3.2Ghz 1.38v 35'C idle 47'C gaming with arctic freezer 7 pro.
I got a new E6420 (batch L707A420) today after a bad E4300: 418x8 with stock voltage on a 965P-DS3.
E6420 L647G. Possible to go to 3.6ghz if I can tame the heat
vcore at 1.52volt

I'm at 462x8 with 1.50v (Corsair Nautilus 500)
This is good?
