Now with new bios i can boot up with 400 fsb, also unlinked ram settings works fine.. but when i set more fsb than 385 systems works fine, but memtest makes errors.. i had my computer over night worked fine, just memtest makes error? anyone else same symptoms?? I have tried 2 different sticks, 2x1gb gskill nt & kingston 2x1gb value.. craziest thing is that in bigger fsb's than 385 memtest works fine in single channel mode.. i think something strange in chipset..
how do i run memtest then ill tell u coz im running at 425fsb and ram at 425, i dont have floppy and i dont think u can boot from a USB stick on this mobo
Using bios 11 450fsb seems to be stable for me, currently running Orthos to check stability. Previously 438fsb was my highest stable overclock.

I'm now testing old Memtest86+ under dos, http://oc-papat.com/filut/memtest86%2B-1.65.iso.zip iso-image, just burn to cd & boot with max fsb :-)
EDIT: Hmmh, i set more CPU VTT and seems to be 400 fsb memtest stable :)
Well, I didn't want to waste anymore time on this board. I also tried lower voltage ram and still long beep after cmos reset. The board is on the way back to the newegg graveyard. Gonna pick up a DS3 instead since I dont need sli.

Yep, I too have been massively let-down by my last 2 MAX boards, so much so that I don't plan to purchase another Abit ever again unless someone can unequivocally prove to me that they laid off the monkey with a piece of paper and a crayon and put a real programmer back in the position.
Abit BIOS support is HORRIBLE.
I´ve been playing a little with my Cellshock´s to see how far would they go on this board (never played with a Nvidia chipset on Intel):

I have problems too with Cas 4, with my P5B Dlx i could do 1200 4-4-4-12 1m 2,45v but with this Abit i can´t do even 1100 using 2,5v.
BTW, any of you have tried different LDT settings? I see that setting it a 4x helps (i have to try it) but, 3x or 2x give more improve?
ldt 4x should be used of overclocking, ldt 3x wont post unless fsb is above 1800/450FSB
is there an equation to work it out coz on AMD u would have 200fsb x5 ldt =1000 (Stock), if u had and overclock of 250fsb then u would put ldt on 4x so 250x4= 1000
how would this work with intel?
i find bios 12 the worst, bios 10,modded 10 and 11 have been the best for my overclock
also using everest to monitor vcore (im sure this is accurate as its 3 decimal places and drop when on dual orthos load)
bios : everest
1.5 : 1.44
1.525 : 1.50
1.550 : 1.52
my cpu aint stable at 1.5/1.44 but is stable at 1.525/1.50
but 1.50 is too much voltage and 1.44 is too little, i cant get any voltage between like 1.46 as 1.50 in bios give me 1.44 and 1.525 in bios gives me 1.50, there are no other options in between them like my P5B has 1.5125, any suggestions, why is there such a huge cap of 0.6, it should be a different of 0.025, the gap between 1.55 and 1.525 in bios gives a cap of 0.2 which sounds more like it but this is not the case between 1.5 and 1.525

ive dropped the multipler to 7 on my E6600 and seeing how high the FSB goes on this board, ive had this cpu 13 hours prime stable at 425x8 3.4ghz on my Asus P5B
7x the following:
1920/480*7 3360 post freezes
1900/475*7 3325 boots into windows and restarts after 5 mins
1880/470*7 3290 boots into windows and restarts after 5 mins
1860/465*7 3255 boots into windows and restarts after 5 mins
1840/460*7 3220 boots into windows and restarts after 5 mins
1820/455*7 3185 testing now

I always thought that the LDT setting was sort of legacy on Intel and didn't do anything. It probably doesn't work quite the same was HT works on an AMD board.

i have this board also.. and what can i say..
it sure is crap.
i get random freezes when loading windows.
i have tried everything, windows installs just fine but then i cant get into it.
safe mode works every time but normal doesnt.
i have tried diffrent cpu-s, mem-s, hdd-s, vga-s and nothing helps.
it still freezes 49 times from 50 when loading windows.
but ~1time from 50 it goes to windows and works like a charm.
this is with "load optimized defaults" and it still doesnt work:soap:
also that bios link doesnt work and there isnt new bios on abit homepage either

yep. It appears that abits last sucessful series is going to be the venerable old IC7. Take it from someone who has went through 1 Aw9D MAX, and 2 IN9 32X MAX boards in the past few months. Truth be told, the AW9DMAX seems pretty good, but the IN9 Gave me HORRIBLE problems. A friend of mine bought the FP-IN9, and went through a similar problem that I had. All of a sudden out of nowhere, no POST, leaving on a memory POST code. Pull one stick out, good. Swap sticks, good. Put both sticks in in any combo of slots, no go. He RMAd it and bought my recently replaced (for new revision) evga 680i and loves the crap out of it.
