E6850 and QX6700 on DFI INFINITY Intel P965 Test

Hey AndreYang, this board sure clocks cpu... you have proved that.

Now do some extreme ram clocking :)

See if you can get DDR-1200+, not only that, see if 3-3-3 is faster then 4-4-3 (usually isnt on 965 because of subtimings)

Lastly, does this board have a 1T option?

AndreYang do u have the option in bios to choose which strap to use? And if u don't, is there a possibility that the mobo is changing the strap by itself over 500 fsb (for example),to something not as tight as the 1066?

This mobo is only 2T. Maybe 965 and 975 don't have 1T option. I will test 3-3-3-4 and 4-4-3-4 on DDR2 800. ASUS has CL3 slower than CL4 problem, but I am not sure DFI has this problem or not.

it would be interesting to see your comparison...........it seems that the highlighted timing is the issue on Asus right rather than CAS3?

What exactly is 1t and 2t? What does it mean and what's the difference?

Did anybody measure vdrop of this board?

any cold boot issues? even my p5b doesn't always like rebounding sometimes, although hitting the reset fixes it.

i'm still speechless about the stock vmch/vtt at 500+ fsb on 1066 strap. what the...

Command rate - simply another ram timing like cas and such, it has a good impact on performance, but it also gives a hit on maximum clocking. most boards don't have it, 975 doesnt support it at all, 965 does, but currently only one board supports it (abit quad GT) though the clocks are so bad with it that its not worth it to use, so its pretty useless most of the time. edit - by not supporting it i mean the board is locked at 2t.

Then, How about 'FSB 400+' w/ quad core cpu?

Andre, are you still using this board? If so, are you able to run mbench or a similar test to find latencies and clocks for ram? A test at 400fsb and again at say 500fsb would really be fantastic. From the looks of testing on the quadgt, it looks like although it's still on 1066 strap, certain internal latencies were still severely loosened, since results were still iffy. Probably no getting around that on p965 though.
