No, Crysis does not require Vista, and WILL run quite well on a high-end DX9c configuration... But to get the graphics we've just seen in this vid.... Yes, I'm afraid... But look at it this way: You can cut your expenses in half by using XSOS :toast:Quote:

The violence looks normal for a shooter. Nothing comes close to SOF II.
O....M....G....
I'll join the club...my 7900GTX+ speeds 7900GT is crying away.....
Is XSOS something that I can easily install over my win xp install?
OOooooh more sweet graphics that I got to wait for another 5 months for to see it on my system doh.
The great thing about Far Cry was the open game play, it was not A to B and some of the levels were massive which meant you could play the single player about half a dozen different ways
Hope they have done that again with physics and graphics so it puts up a new goal post for other developers to follow.
Carmark, Sweeney and crews really need to look and listen.

Andy
The snow looked really sweet. But I have to agree, the car details weren't up to par with the rest of the game.
Can't wait until it release, anyone guess when its out , end of year or 3 to 6 months ???

I made this new PC for oblivion, looks like its time to move on to bigger and better parts..
I know this will run sweet on one GTX, but do you guys think it will be necessary to buy a SLI board and a Kentsfield for this game?
I know the way oblviion rapes this pc as it is, I hope this game isnt as demanding..
i too bought a 1900xt for oblivion, anyone want it, it looks like this game will eat that card alive.
Anybody know what hardware they're running to make it look that good?
Right close to the end...the subtle motion blurring...mmmmm.
I too bought my X19 for Oblivion, then the 88 for Oblivion...screwed it up w/ all the texture overhaul packs and now wait for the 98/r700 to run Oblivion. It's the game that won't die!
The graphics are truly ground breaking no doubt, but what drew me to the first game was the gameplay. I hope this game will offer the same kind of experiance.
I have 1 thing to say: :eek2:
Well, OK, two things: Look at my sig. That is the rig I am almost done building, as of right now. This game...hmm, even with another 8800GTX, I am not sure it will have the "go" to run this game...$4000 worth of silicon going to be useless in 6 months... :brick:
Still though, its amazing. Hope it ends up being that cimematic in the flesh!
