it's not a problem, the 680 boards just "tweak" the voltages of the 8800 cards for higher overclocks :)
naughtyboy, have you tested this yourself?

its 680i sli 100%,but asus fake the info,
Do you perfectly right, driver for 650i not function in this mobo, driver for 680i
still function perfectly.its a big fake, maybe in the future, a update of bios solve the problem, and show in cpuz "680i sli".i hope.
Can anyone post the pics how to meaure Vcore , Vdimm ..... ect in this mobo ?
:toast:
I hear Asus has the terrible Vdroop :(
The evga 680i boards all have a severe design bug...the cursor gets erratic
whenever a heavy load is put on the CPU, such as prime95, FEAR,
etc. For this reason, I want to get a asus but only if it does not have this
bug. Could someone please test for this as follows: run the Intel
Thermal Analysis Tool and put at least a 80% workload on both cores
(assuming you have a dual core, I tested with a E6600).
Then, move your mouse cursor around see if it fails to track and gets
fanthom mouse button clicks. This is a random problem, so
you might need to do this a minute or two to test. Also, upping
the CPU core voltage intensifies the prob, but
in all cases, a load must be on the CPU to cause the screwup.
Superpi and Prime95 running simulaneously will also trigger the problem.
Can someone run this test and report the results?
This prob is 100% repeatable, and happens on all evga 680i boards.
Finally, does the Asus 650i/680i mobos have 'smartfan' implemented
in the BIOS?
I installed Intel Thermal Analysis Tool but could not run it. It showed an Error !!!!
Try running prime95 and superpi together. Or, just prime95 alone, but you'llQuote:

On non plus version there's no bug, and from what I know from a friend that has Plus there's no bug either.
You need to personally run the experiment.Quote:

He has put this CPU and motherdoabrd to evere possible sterss, trust me.
No. The test must be run as outlined in my post.Quote:

advice me,how overclok at 3,6ghz with this mobo.thx
Can anyone with this board peel off the sticker right above the blue PCI-E slot?
You might be in for a little surprise :D :

Here's some more nice info i found:

The Asus P5N32-E SLI PLUS is a revised version of the P5N32-E SLI and has been noted to solve some issues found within the P5N32-E SLI that some users are experiencing.
Changes:
* Changed Northbridge and Southbridge Chipsets (C55XE and MCP55XE to C55 and MCP55)
* Upgraded and updated capacitors (Tantalum+Electrolytic+Conductive Polymer capacitors to Tantalu+Conductive Polymer capacitors)
* Updated BIOS
* Added accessories to the motherboard bundle
Benefits of Changes:
* Tighter control and manipulation of voltages with lower vdroop
* Fixed issues in relation to chipset functions e.g. crackling onboard sound during SLI configuration use
* 3DMark06 bundled with the motherboard
about Striker signature on PCB is kinda old news
about 3DMark06, i didn't get it with mobo
Cuz I dont have the board myself, I have P5N32-E nonplus. If you need it so desperately I can ask him to register and drop by this thread and perform this test you outlined.Quote:

I got a mail from Asus that it is my shop's fault that there wasn't a 3dmark06 included. So asus blames all shops and what so ever...
Its not! I've seen them open the major box with my mobo in it, and none of them got 3D06 inside!!Quote:

Guys I´ve been thinking about this 3dmark06 issiue to...and confronted my dealer about this...and he has been supsicious about this to. This is a guy I trust deeply...and if he says there wasn´t any 3dmark when they recieved the boards then I belive him. So either it´s Asus or the suppliers, somehow I don´t think Asus would do such a BS thing. It´s one thing to sell a mobo to early with bugs e.t.c ...but purly lie about the content of the package wich the mobo is bundled with, naaah sorry but I really don´t think so.
AFAIK it´s some of all the middle hands that are screwing us big time.
Now, this is just my opinion and thoughts...I have nothing to back this up with.
I have the issue here, USB mouse cures it.Quote:

I took a look to those mobos (removing heatsinks), sorry I've given the P5N32-E SLI to a friend :
- Striker Extreme = C55-SLIX16N-A2 + NF590-SLI-N-A2 (sold as 680i SLI)
- P5N32-E SLI PLUS = C55-SLIX8N-A2 + NF590-SLI-N-A2 (sold ?? 2x 16X)
- P5N-E SLI = NF650I-SLI-N-A2 + NF-430-N-A3 (sold as 650i SLI)
The 1st one is correct, it's a true 680i SLI (NF590-SLI-N-xx = MCP55). The 3rd one is correct too, it's a true 650i SLI (nForce 430 = MCP51). What about the second one? I asked nVidia, they told me that their were a 680i version without the additionnal third PCI-E 16X (wired 8X), is it the answer? I'm not sure.
Any input?

Tom
It looks like in the "PLUS" version, the C55-SLIX8N-xx is a 650i NB, intented to make one 16X or SLI 8+8X. They use 16X with this NB, and they use 16X from the SB.
Well, nVidia just confirmed me that their were a second "lighter" version of the 680i SLI, without the third PEG port. So this explain how we can have a mobo with a NB looking like a NF650 + 680 goodies (EPP, linkboost...) and also how this mobo can be sold less expensive than the "non PLUS" version, with better caps.
The only "unknown" thing : why Asus do not write nForce 680i SLI clearly on the box and the manual?

You should start to use the edit button for sure.
Asus told my dealer (same as naughtys) that they replaced the non-plus due to bugs and such. He also told me that 3DMark06 was on the CD/DVD Asus includes with drivers and such, so the confusion maybe is that you think you will get a license for 3DMark06 and not just the install file for it.
No , i have here one P5N32E SLI Plus and dont have 3DMArk06Quote:

About 3DMark06 : maybe it depends on the market? I have 3DM06 with both the P5N32-E SLI and the P5N32-E SLI PLUS.
