Got mine today. ;)
Still waiting for hdd to arrive.
You can buy from overclockers.co.uk, but it's rape. I think the conversion to dollars from their 170 pounds is like $330 dollars:( You'd be better off getting some crucial 1000, or G.skill Hz. I have a set of this stuff, and want to run 4GB very much so, so if anyone wants to get rid of your set, please PM me.
got mine today as well

5-5-5-15 with 2.25 volts
^ Those are some nice results.
I still haven't got a platform for mine... it will come soon though. Can't wait to fiddle.
I have question: Exchange from Crucial Ballistix @ 1220Mhz 5-5-5-15 2T to Crucial 10th Anniversary.
It's good idea or not ?
I'd say stay with what you have. Some 10th Anniversary don't clock worth a damn, and I personally would not risk a sure thing like DDR2-1220 CAS5 for something else that would likely top out at the same clocks, best case scenario.Quote:

Rather than deal w/ newegg, I decided to see what Crucial would do since both were OOS. They agree to cross ship the reg Ballistixs overnight. Here's pics...results soon.
EDIT: pics in a bit too... :D
You gotta lovečm:D

I'm going to miss my pretty blue spreaders...

Does a shop sell them still? I love these sticks, but i can't find them.
Newegg just sold off a few kits last week, but other than that, no. I got a kit, but they're in a different state right now. Hopefully I'll start testing them next week.
Today one of my crucial ballistx die :(
Stock voltage, stock timings - reason unknow
Now i'm waiting for crucial AE :)
im in the uk and im going to be ordering my new system next week which will include p5b deluxe and an e6400. I was set to get
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA804)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-090-CR
but now after reading all this it seems like the 10th anniversary edition are the way to go.
Crucial 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Tenth Anniversary Dual Channel Kit (TY2KIT12864AA663)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MY-085-CR
But what I dont understand is the above are pc2-6400C4 and the 10th aniversary are PC2-5300C3 i was under the impression that 800mhz ram was the way to go for overclocking the c2d. I am a complete newb when it comes to all this so please be patient :) I can get either the ballistix or 10 th anniversary for the same price £199.74 inc VAT so which ones would be the most stable and provide me with the best overclock ?? Heres what my complete system will be. Should also probably mention that I would like to overclock to about 3.6 ghz if its possible.
Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13ghz - Skt775 Fsb1066 2mb Cache Boxed
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA804)

thanks for any help and advice
i should pick the 10th anniversary if you look in this thread..
I have one question, does someone knows which chips the Crucial Ballistix tracer(with leds) pc5300 uses? And do you know this for 100% sure?
I can get these one cheap here in the netherlands, and i THINK these have D9GMH, but i'm not sure..
Ialso have the 10the Anniversary the Sticks work whery good on Asus P5b dlx but now i have for a test a Asus Striker Bios 0802 Beta. The Board is only working with 1 Stick 1Gb.

The Crucial 10th Anniversary is what any customer experiences with those sticks, and they were sold in US for a lower price - ~$225. 'nuff said.
I see some small I-logicalities with your sys:
If u want Extreme 90%ish OC, I would get E6300 and Tuniq.
If u want higher Mhz - the E6400 would give u that, with cheaper Heatsink. The C2Ds are very cool. VERY. and the Throttling features help a lot.
And the HDD is slow VS a raptor.
Not to mention the new 4xxx C2D coming soon, that may prove better after OC.
I would get E6300+cheaper HS + Raptor . 90% OC is really scary. and I believe you would do 60% OC for sure. But if u want to feel you did your best , than the Tuniq is good investment. And put some cooling for the RAM.
My Crucial 10th Ann. died after 3 months at 500MHz with active cooling @ 2.35V. :(
Great while they lasted.
Ouch 2.35 volts will do it, I run mine 24/7 @ 2.10 volts @ 420 4-4-4. They maxed out on a DS at ~1085 @ 6-6-6 @ 2.4 volts though, maybe the incoming 650i will coax 1100+ out of them.
They are Micron D9GMH and stock voltage is 2.25V, so 2.35V is not really very much considering I was using active cooling and this was on a PB5 Deluxe which has voltage drop problems.Quote:

Also, it was only one of the sticks that started to have problems. Some days it was fine, other days I had to pull it to boot.
uh oh. i've been experiencing the same thing where after a failed overclock, the board won't boot until i remove 1 stick... hopefully it's just a board thing and not the mem
I replaced the board (PB5-D) thinking it was the board. I then tried a new power supply and video card, turned out to be the ram...Quote:

Funny thing was that it would run MEM86 just fine, and SuperPI too, but about every 4th day it would crash. Sometimes it would reboot just fine, sometimes it would not boot until I pulled the bad stick of ram. The times that it rebooted fine, it would often then not run SuperPI and would later crash again during BF2142. I would then pull the ram and leave it out for a day or so, and put it back in, and would be fine for a few days...Strange.
I just got Ballistic 800 Tracers and I have no problems so far.
