anybody else got a feel for how solid/sturdy/well made the mounting part is? I'm interested in this thing for the mount and the fan brackets. I would cut away most of the fan grill, paint it black, toss the led's, replace the fans, mount it, and hook it up to a fan controller.
The Flex XLC built in heatspreader is too tall already.Quote:

If you have anyway to turn the fan speeds down you'll be fine.
Who the hell would liquid cool their ram with the XLC thing??? Its so ugly anyways...>|P ugh
when will this be available in the US ???
also is this better to get over the corsair dominator cooler ??
im using crucial ddr2 10000
Then make an option on rev2 of the cooler to have height adjstment as this will allow it work with others then! You do lots of rev2 rams do it for this cooelrQuote:

Here is the OCZ product page with an installation diagram: http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...ocz_xtc_cooler
To use this type of fan-cooler with the large heatspreader on the FlexXLC modules would take a very tall bracket and would need to be a dedicated product.

how loud is this?
Havn't read this thread but when's this bad boy available in teh good o'le US of A?
nevermind
on the first page it says avaible at atacom for 19$
To those of you who have already purchased the cooler, how much space above the RAM sticks does it take up? I have a SLI-DR Expert with an XP-90 and the heatsink overhangs some of the RAM slots. I'd really like to get one of these, but I am not sure if it will fit with the thermalright. :(
You can turn the XP-90 180* :)
maybe I'll get it just because it looks sexy. I'd rather have that sexy chrome than some random black fan...as long as it doesn't restrict airflow too much.
Looks nice. Didn't someone make acrylic brackets for DFI boards back in the day? I think they had space to cool the memory and also the voltage regulators. You could mount any fans you wanted.
That is the reason i bought mine.. just for the sexiness :)Quote:

Because the heatsinks of those mems are way high and I can't get the Corsair cooler! :(
Thanks in advance.

OCZ's attempt to compete Corsair's Airflow mem cooler (ones that come with Dominator series). Price is pretty well placed.
But as far as I can see, it won't be as effective for 2 reasons:
- Thin fans (low pressure)
- Grill is too close to fans, holes are small and sparse (no good intake)
I'm fairly sure the cooler won't fit on any RAM that has heatspreaders that are much taller than the sticks themselves.Quote:

Thanks for all the answers. Is there any way then I can buy the Corsair Airflow cooler?
And without cooling what is the max voltage you guys advise me to use with my Corsair Dominator 6400C4D?
I've managed to do 480x8 @ 4-4-4-4 @ 2.3v (2.45 on bios) running a SuperPi 8m.

Thanks again.

i can get a hold of one of this locally for around $19CAD but my only concern is that its not plastic. which means that if it accidentally falls off....it will kill all my other components with it.
I am wondering if anyone has tried installing this XTC cooler on an Ultra-D with a Thermaltake Big Typhoon installed? I am wondering how this will fit and if it will be obstructed by the heatpipes on the Big Typhoon. I want to be guaranteed it is going to fit before I spend my money ordering one. I have my 2 sticks in the Orange slots. Thanks.
