Go look at a PS3 that is actually running carbon. That wouldn't be possible :)Quote:

if you notice the ps3 and x360 are nearly the same size but the 360 looks way smaller because its white and the directino of the curves (x360 bows in, and the ps3 bows out)

The RSX die size looks larger than G71
but the g71 is 90nm and the g70 is 130nm so istent the rsx the g70 just faster so it should be bigerQuote:

8800GTX + DX10 will pwn this.
Anybody get the feeling the "Playstation 3" glossy emblem on the front of
the Playstation 3 looks like the "Spiderman" title style...
I guess with Sony's luck these days, Spiderman franchise is the only profitable, and thus copyable :P
They are losing a lot of ground with their electronics branch/market, gaming branch/market, telecommunications branch/market and only thing that seems to be still at a steady pace of expansion is their media bran/market...
HA! Thats for thinking you are "all that" Sony.
BTW, what is really retarded is that bluray players are still soooo bloody expensive... Except for the fact of unavailability, why would you go and buy a bloody bluray player for hundreds or dollars, when you can just go buy yourself a PS3 :P
Meh, I like Wii better anyways :)
Wii is more innovative. It relies on its sleek look, size and style; never before utilized controller technology; and is cheaper :P
PS3 on the other hand, seems like who ever was in charge threw a lot of cash at the techs and told'em to put top tier hardware and pack it up.
(look at PS3's innovative controller... more buttons... impressive)
So sorry this turned into a Wii VS PS3. :)
Well, console gamers out there might play alone, and might want to experience better performance like the member of XS with their computers,
but I've never bought a console to play by myself (I do that on the PC... ha, I just made funny). I use consoles when multiple friends are over or I'm with the family. (Drunk highschool/college girls are crazy when playing Smashbros!)
But that might just be me.
Well, sorry for blabbering on. Midterms are over, I'm a bit drunk, XS forums is my startpage on mozilla, and I can't go to sleep... Anyways, ya...
The RSX is a 90nm chip, its roughly akin to a g71, but has a 128bit gddr3 bus, and a turbocache component that can access the 256MB xdr system memory. It also has a few southbridge elements thrown in for IO.
I think they may have been somewhat over cautious with the clockspeeds, the ram is rated for 1.4ghz plus, and further down the line they'll be using higher bins ridiculously downclocked. They should have gone for 1.1/1.0ns stuff now, and swallowed the slightly higher cost for the first few months - would have made a big difference on a 128 bit bus. The core clock too probably could have been higher - Higher power consumption on the initial models would have ben a price worth paying for a console that was more powerful for its lifespan (after all the 65nm refresh will be with us in a year which should reduce power consumption and heat. so having a slightly faster fan on early models would have done the job for now)
why next gen graphics are ridiculously shining xbox ps3 dx10 doesnt matter everywhere is shining and except mgs4 and crysis everyother looks like crap. look vf5 even mans arm is sihning lol
It should, the price already does :stick:Quote:
