When test SPI,I965 VS N680i @ASUS platform,who is winner?

@3.60GHz with DDR2-800/3-3-3, 32M barely makes it into 15mins. 975X gets me 13 mins 40 secs. Think that's bad? Think again. :) Dual 32M takes nearly 20 mins!! (vs under 16 mins with 975X) Now, 1T improves the results somewhat but it's still not enough and more than anything I can only run up to 8M with 1T. I think it's either the ammount of RAM used or the number instances affect memory management in current BIOS. But not sure.

Funny thing is in every other test it either equals or beats 975X. Everest (except latency), PCMark, Sciencemark, and so on. I'm liking this board overall and replacing my P5W-DH with it. SP results are horrendous but like someone said I don't *play* SP and I'm sure there will be BIOS update in near future.

You forgot to mention RD600 - not released yet but chances are hi it will do better than 975 in SuperPi & better than 965 in hi FSB...........:p:

I can't await to see how the undependent mem frequency works. This must be a grand slam - no need for dividers and multi is only required for the FSB setting.

Although the kentsfield clock pulse of the very obvious N680 is is higher but compress completion time longer

Bandwidth: 680i > P965/975X (except Super PI) :D
Latency: 975X/P965 < 680i

coolaler, any chance you could test some Tmpgenc Xpress encoding, it would be interesting to see the difference in that
