Nice to see you back in action with a really good X6800 :toast:

It is hard to get cards for this stuff, before I joined the NH crew as a technical editor I never got any contacts for support with hardware. Atm I'm saving to buy one or two 8800GTX, I have a fealing they will be really fun to bench with good overclocking and hopefully no coldbug :) We are looking at good month for benching with G80 and Kentsfield.

Even from an onlookers perspective the cold bugs seem like something that can kill the fun of benching completely stone dead even for the most hardy of benchers.

I'm overdue for a good orb-slapping. Why not have it be with my own gear and one of the worlds best clockers :D. A great sendoff would be cool. My first gpu ln2benching was all on ATI, seems so long ago lol.

I need to get the drive back for some serious benching. Solo 3dmark bench sessions with 3 units now requires 100% focus and determination. The new HW looks so crazy fast. It's pretty damn cool that I can compete with someone who lives across the world, and we are both using the others "ace" so to speak.

I can tell you that the 100k barrier could be broken with the X1950's too IF the rams didn't have the "1143MHz limit bug"...I think that this could be solved with a new bios perhaps....Though I'm willing to flash if a newer bios for them show up somewhere.....:)

think i have something that might come in handy ;) .
il see first il let u know treu pm , hope it works . did the same with my X800pro bios and rams hitted 675mhz on 2.0ns speeds ;)

im with you there im so tired to be limited to 1143, and if theres a bios that can fixed it i will flash it too...

Force MIP is one ugly 'tweak', some people call it a cheat. In some 3D mark scénes you get black screen for a few second, some scénes will look unricognizable, etc etc
I've never tested altering the MIP level in nVhardpage registery. I know you can get big boosts with it, but that's also why I doubt the image quality is still decent enough.

Now, what is decent enough? And what isn't? It should not be discussed further here, but it might be a good read for much people who don't know of this 'trick' so if anyone feels like making a topic about it, please do so.

If you mean LOD (and only LOD), then YES, firstly "discovered" by an NVIDIA "player" and since last year ATI "players" use it too....ALL the scores on ORB are with LOD for MORE THAN FOUR YEARS now believe it or not....:)

LOD is the first degree of tweaking, MIP is more effective.
