In the demo version I get ads from server companies here in Spain. I thought it was like in 3dmarks, if you use them for free you see Havok, Alienware or Falcon ads, but if you buy it the ads are gone.

I had a preorder from this game, just cancelled it after making sure that this was true :S

its funny how so many people are shocked. I been playing BF2 since it came out i was not expecting anything less from this game or EA. ET all the way for me.

Oh i see none here mentioned that its like not even 24 hours since that game was out and patch 1.01 is already out.

Just ebay your games sell them for anything u can get or just throw them back at EA staff.

yeah I was well shocked at the 1.01 patch out already...

It was probably to stop the current torrents on the net.

does Bf2142 have the same dual core problem as BF2 has?

You guys are looking at this all wrong, I am not sure if i am buying the game but if i do get it, i think it would be worth looking at a week worth of :banana::banana::banana::banana: so that all the billboards have :banana::banana::banana::banana: on them. :)

Same uproar when it came out too, for the same reasons. That little quote I have on page one blocks the ads in Swat 4.

I've been looking for screenshots of the ads, but haven't found squat. Can we get some links, or can somebody with the game post something? I want to see exactly what EA thinks alienating its userbase is worth.

I played for a couple hours, didnt see anything, friend of mine says they havent activated the system yet.

I thought the point of buying a retail game is NOT to have advertising? People are stupid to buy this game and allow them to get away with this. $60 for a game, having your machine tracked, just to have advertisements tossed down your throat? Ill pass.. This isnt AOL or Mplayer...

Now that's even worse IMO :stick:

Add that to the fact that the retail version (I P2Ped it to try it before buying, don't flame me, I can't play online so it's just to test if I want to buy the game) doesn't save my key config, menus are lagged, it still has to pre-render the textures each time you change a single config, you can't press Esc to pass the damn EA and DICE logos at start and what you get? I've uninstalled it and won't buy it.
