impressive overclock,. My 6400 only does 3.8G max. I havent lap the cpu and my idle temps are in 50c @ 1.35Vcore. Congrat you realy have a nice 6400 there
bro, I have the same week as the one in your sig and I can hit 3.8ghz w/ orthos goin and full spi benchable. no lapping and no modding. for some reason just before 3.9ghz though everything goes to crap.Quote:

sorry man...
U guys r the real pros...
Luv reading this forum alot... :)
Am pretty happy with my chip now..
LOL at which speed your E6400s starts to eat vcore???
mmmm.. what core do you need for example to reach 3,2ghz????
My little one only needs 1,275v (with 1,2v does past 2800mhz) is it good, very good or holy grail??? XDDDDDD
salu2.
My E6400 will do 3504mhz with 1.480v. When loaded it falls to 1.460v.Quote:

Anything past 3504mhz it eats vcore for breakfast, lunch, and dinner :slapass:
so how many of you are using EIST?
i'm a little perplexed about it: to enable it, I had to disable the manual multi in BIOS, and then enable the Intel EIST thingy into Automatic.....and then once in windows I put the Power setting in "Minimal Power conservation" mode.
I see perhaps a 1-2C decrease when it idles and it goes down to 2.8 (x6 multi) from 3.3... But my question is, the Vcore is still set as hard coded 1.35volts.
I ran orthos and all seems well and stable (immediately jumps back to x7 and runs fine) and same with SuperPi.......but I just dont get how people are getting 4C lower when idle if Vcore is constant.
any EIST gurus out there?
This morning I grabbed a local fry's combo E6400 & ECS 965T $269.99. Asked for "B" stepping got L628B194. Hoping to duplicate your results. On my way back to get a P5B Deluxe because 975X boards don't do 500FSB without mods. Gonna try on air first then maybe water.

Higher needs more and more fast.
Low volt operation usually means nothing when it comes to high volt operation. So you cant judge a cpu by how well it does at certain volts, only how high its max is with the volts you are willing to give it. ;)

going from 6-7x is not really a big deal, so thats part of the reason temps dont drop so much, as for temps, dont compare yourself to others, everyone's temp monitors are off, so you might be running colder when really it shows you are higher. Just make sure your temps are in a SAFE range and then forget about them... Judge by stability not temps.

When you ordered your chip from Newegg, did you place order online? or call and ask for a rev B chip?
If your interested in one of these Rev B 6400's let me know. I found four I have bought two, one for myself, one for another forum member. PM me if interested:)Quote:

Anyways i just ordered and got lucky.
My rams maximum (from what I've tested), is 440, so I can test up to 3520mhz
I will test it to see how much vcore it needs to reach this 3,5gig :D
salu2.
I just got a E6400 L628B19 and a E6300 L629B084 from fry's in Downers Grove, IL.
Waiting for RD600... barely.
4 of the L628B194's I picked up did 4ghz+ 32mb Pi stable on air. Have fun:)Quote:

you should be ok at 2.45 if you keep a fan on them...
idle load temps should be on there... i dont remeber right now, i may not have even checked... either way, when i gear up for benching again soon, ill make sure to watch temps for ya. ;)
