right now I have the card at the same temps I had it at on water (just moderate OC's) - 700/820, but haven't pushed past that really
I can play with rivatuner later tonight and see what kinda clocks I can get out of it without voltage increases

Very nice results, about time a decent hsf for gpus was released.
Damn that looks nice :) Cant wait till these pop up in the Netherlands!
i can ship one out to you if you pay for shipping ;)
That would be great if it wasnt for our customs, who intercept a lot of things, which will force us to pay custom rights (invoerrechten in dutch) & whatever more. It will cost about 50euro more if it gets intercepted!
yea see what it does with higher volts. do you have a chance to test a high CFM fan on it? a delta?
I hate ATI tool, so I won't be upping the voltages on my x1900XTX unless the creator releases the version of rivatuner that allows voltage changes... and I don't have any other 92mm fans available to me (unless I buy one)
ATi Overclocker can change volts (all but VDDCQ IIRC, actually), if you want to try an alternative.
I'm pretty sure the latest version of ATI Tray Tools can adjust voltages too.
I finally tried to use this thing for OC and got a nasty artifact without going anywhere over stock 3d voltages and the same clocks I had whilst OCing in Overdrive. Perhaps Overdrive unlocked, then ATI Tool was causing the problem. I'll go for a full uninstall of CCC/driver then try ATI Tool again. BTW beta 14.Quote:

yeah... the only program that doesn't give me crap overclocking has to be rivatuner, which actually activates the 2d and 3d clocks, rather than just always running at 3d clocks (ati tool)
but yes, thats the fan I have on my HR-03 right now
Does Riva have higher clock limits than CCC? I'd like to see what OC I can get without adding extra V. Anyway, I've got some pics and soon temps...
Insert blade...saw.

So this pretty much explains the cooling differences.

The bracket's screws do not stick up enough to get through the card. So I stuck a piece of paper in there to bring them to the top. Def helped to guide the card onto the 4 screws without painting the core with a bunch of paste.

I stuck some "lifters" under the other 2 so as to give an accurate idea of the overall heights of these sinks.

Only one RAM chip had to be gimped!

And finally, here's a couple case shots.

Room temp: 24C

The Vantec card cooler can be heard over the 5 Scythes. Adding a 6th Scythe's still a decent amount quieter than the Vantec and it cools a bit better. I didn't check for contact and wasn't 100% sure on install method. Also TIM had over a month to settle on the Accelero. The surface of the Thermalright had grooves and will be lapped and checked for contact tomorrow. Hopefully that'll bring my temps in closer to what the 2-3 of you have gotten so far.
About the install method. I stuck the rubber grommetts between the thumb nuts and backplate. How tight did you guys hug those on? Mine will still turn and I can see some threads on the other side of the card, but the sink wouldn't move. Wonder if I need to tighten more...
Nice review Jodiuh, thanks a lot for sharing.
Great "little" review! I want one too, especially now :D Nice clean stacker dude
I missed this thread, don't hang out here in the cooling section much. I've been talking about it at Spcr quite a deal though.
I've had one since www.pc-coolning.de got them and I just love it. In my case the gpu is cooler with this one without a fan than the stock cooler at 100% :)
Thermalright is the cooler maker. The just keep making low weight coolers that performs like magic. :)
Small typo dude, its http://www.pc-cooling.de ;)
Sweet! Those would definitely solve my SLI cooling issues while still allowing me to use a Xfi.

Hm, how wide is that gap from fins to base? I'm thinking it may be possible to wedge a thin 92mm under there for some push-pull action
Man that's a sweet looking cooler. My accelero x2 will probably take a backseat to this cooler very soon :toast:
here is mine sitting on top of a 7900 GTO:
Idle: 35ºC
Load: 53ºC

I just ordered one of these.
I see there are a few ways to mount this.
How did you guys mount yours?
Also, what grease did you guys use? The stuff provided, or somethign else like AS5 or zalman thermal grease?
