i think thats as good as i will get with r23
just hooked it up for some load testing and manged to pull the cpu out the socket
i am going to get a load tester now:D

how thick is the base of that evap.
Is it hard to brase without getting any solder in the ring part?

That brazed evap is excellent. What did you use to clean it?
I see on the picture of your purging setup, you have the N2 bottle connected to the capillary tube which is fed into the bottom of the evap. But what is the other part of capillary tube there for?
Holding the evap in place I wonder?
Could be, but I would think that captube wouldn't be strong enough for doing that. I may be wrong though.Quote:

I want that Oxy-Acetylene brazing setup hehe :D . I used one last week to braze my first unit up, and they just put out some insane heat!
Only problem is cost really, I was told the portapaks are really expensive.
the other wire is just to balance the evap and hold the cap tube out of the way
while brazing
Oxy-Acetylene is by far the best for this job but as others have shown not essential
i use 3x different nozzles for brazing these are BOC sizes
number 1 for fine work and most of the pipes
number 3 was used to braze up the tes2 1/2 to the hx
number 10 for the evap 3 could also have done this but not as quick
if you were using Oxy-Acetylene for the first time i would say use the number 3 for the evap
