I has an 4800+ from along time ago, I poped the ISH off, somehow screwed it up, super glued the ISH back on and RMAed it.. I got a new processor.Quote:

nn step...you did not just say that. PLs delete that post. :p:
They gonna sand down the tops of the core too?:rolleyes:Quote:

Hehe.. Either you guys know something I don't... or are retarded.
Because.. Dont 2x 7900's preform better than 1 7950?
EDIT!! LOOKY LOOKY!!
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...light=quad+sli
This says.. I CAN run Quad SLI !:)
well considering the 7950's are "underclocked" compared to a 7900GTX, ehhh but be it that the cards are about the same price, you would not be losing out :PQuote:

Tooo late now!! :P The Processor is a goner.. and I am moving on to Connroe..
But I still have to pick a board! :P
Like in Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion... what my dragon sword says in battle, "Murder, death, kill!" Thats some serious damage... Damn what did you use to take off the ISH a bloody katana??? O_o Thats some serious soldering. =PQuote:

Oh, the one that said that heating the IHS with a hot air gun it would come off, take a look @ shaminos review of how to take an IHS off. He did that with air gun, and before melting the solder of the IHS, he melted the solder of the core...
So, just dont take IHS off...
Regards!
Thats rude...Quote:

As far as completes situation, didnt you guys read the first post. He didnt know amd started using solder. I honestly feel for him, if his ihs wasnt soldered on it would have been a simple mod. You live and you learn.
p.s. superglueing the ihs back and rmaing it is just so not cool. :slap: i'm glad hes not the type of guy to do that.
Ouch makes me feel a bit better now, I bent a pin and broke it off anf then when putting the 90c back on chipped the sheetz outta the core, andf shes still my top output cpu holding my siggy down on the dailies
Socket 938 X2 3750 -50 because of chipped core :)
Complete, not long ago AMD used Pb in the flip chip interconnection solder – between the processor die and the package substrate. Now it seems AMD processors are Pb free in order to be compliant to the RoHS directive.
What's this mean? What is PB and how many CPUs are soldered? I know my 0617 chip was not.Quote:

I sorta wanna know when they started using solder too... I might just *not* uncap the ole Opteron 148 on the way.
