Yep, i purged the evap. I got the condenser from a trashed cooler :).
Edit: I just ordered resistors for a load tester with about 175W heat output (3x100ohm 50W resistors). I also insluated my cooler and put on the sleeve again.

Did some progress, but I'm still not finished tuning it. I think I'll cut some more cap tube :D I've cut three times now, and i don't know exactly what the length is now. But it's between 2,6 and 2,8 metres.
My load tester (about 175W):

Idle temp:

Loaded temp (178W):

The temp went down to -45*C but i don't have a pic of that.
I'll cut 15-20 cm more captube and see if I get a better loaded temp.
I'm stil running with R290 but I hope I can get some R22 soon and maybe a little bit R410A to blend with the R22.
:)
See Kids thats what ya get for practicing! a Beauty full clean pro looking unit first shot!
Great build mate, You better be glowing with pride for that sweet unit!
Be careful to reposition the brown wire,if left like that and that is not high heat insulation ,it will melt thru and contact the middle resistor, loosing all or part of the resistance and heat from the 3rd resistor. once insulated this would not be easily seen . you would be able to tell by ohms values,so when complete mark down the original ohms values of all 3 in series.
Thanks! :DQuote:

But I did put some glue on the resistor solderings so if the insulation melts it won't connect to the middle resistor, just to make sure it won't short if there's condensation all over the resistors. Maybe I will put some heat shrink tubing over the brown wire, it sould take over 150*C then.Quote:

Wtf . How i missed this build :D Very Nice [and clean ] job Sir. :toast:
Hehe, thanks :D I'll get some more R290 tomorrow and do some load tests in the weekend. Things is going very slow as I don't have a working place at home, but only at dad's place so I don't work much on the unit when I'm at home. But that's going to change now as I'm building a workshop at home now :woot:
I'm going to start making a case soon.
noooooo....:stick: :slapass:Quote:
