That's crazy.

Operating system maybe? Lower priority? Do you run as a service (not that that should make a difference)?
yea, a couple are on XP Pro, the other are on W2K3. all normal priority, all run as service.
it has to be something i'm doing, it's this way on like 10 machines.
My s754 3000+hammer/castle halfbreed is about 4-4.3-13.5k (win xp) @ 2.45Ghz Optimized as well. (well when it was working anyways:rolleyes: .)Quote:

Any bios settings like throttling or anything like that going on anywhere?, somthing using one of the cores for somthing else? Drivers of any kind?.
Like I said I'm sure you know what you are doing but somthing sure is not right there.
I'm not running as service. Maybe bust one out and just load it manually and see what happens.
Welp, just had a death in the family - The old dell p3 800 lappy finally gave up its smoke.. and is now deceased. Started locking up yesterday, and finally won't even give a post. :explode: :dammit:
Guess I gotta start looking for a dual core lappy now. Must.... have... portable.... sanity.... while caring for mom. Anyone know of any good ones? Just started looking a bit at the turion X2's, sorting out their numbering, the 50 and 52's both run at 1.6ghz, and the 56 @ 1.8, the 60 @ 2ghz.
Time to go hunting for a merom and compare, would like to stay under 1500, but probably gonna be disappointed. Would like to get one with its own vid memory, instead of shared crap, but I think that's what's gonna bump me out of price range. Any suggestions, or directions to look would be appreciated.
i got some machines up to 10k, but that still seems low, and the others are still around 3-5k.
sorry about your loss Hymay. it is indeed a sad day :(
Let's all have a moment of silence for Haymay's loss. While we're at it, how about a moment for my buddy Steve Erwin. Poor guy.
Not that that was OT or anything...
If you don't mind paying a bit of money, MSI ultra-portable notebooks are quite nice and equipped very well. You can have one of those over here for ~800-1200 euros. If you want to go bigger, the Dell Inspiron 6400/9400 are pretty good deals as well.Quote:
